    Could be too late.

The T.20 that’s on there for sale @ $650,000 has all ready been b*ggered up.

Someone has already stuck an R-3350 and 4-blade Ham-Stan on it.

Those Yanks must like adjusting tappet clearances;) ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Try here Russ;

I know it’s mil.colours but G-FURY looks awfully close to “Red Arrows Red”,which I think you’ll find equates to Humbrol 174.

Argh – you’re right of course – I was comparing with a head-on photo and the wing leading edge curvature hides them from the angle depicted. I guess they are exaggerated for clarity on the drawing.

    Clearly you do not.

I’ve made a couple of attempts to help you by pointing out that plans provided to you aren’t perfect, and in one case so laughably wrong as to be utterly useless, and you simply aren’t interested.

Utter rubbish. Good luck with your project. Frankly from your comments so far I don’t believe you’ll get very far – if you can’t even be bothered to go and do some of the most basic of research for yourself and are positively hostile to people trying to help you, what hope is there for you?

Miggers – yes, they are very accurate, but they’re not perfect. Examination of either of the two surviving airframes will show you several differences between them and Barry’s drawings. It is possible of course that he introduced deliberate errors in order to spot when people copied his drawings without his permission. I hope MrBlueSky had permission to post a hi-res copy of them here…!

Yes Damien, you’re right and Barry stated this.
    The drawings are of XR219.
The various test and pre-production batch a/c’s were all slightly different due to the varying roles in the test programme they were to perform.
XR220 for example, and I’m sure you know this, was to be the weapons drop and uprated u/c test aircraft, hence the cameras on the intake flanks and the modified u/c she sports.
But as Barry also stated, they are the most accurate drawings of XR219 you can get your hands on.
Unless you managed to sneak a full set of blueprints before they went on the fire:eek: ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜ฎ .

    Yeh I did.Pretty good.

Strange the reply you got from them. They’ve got a chap that flies a Victor and another that flies a Vulcan.

Both have two jet engines in them I believe.

    Maybe it’s because you’re not a member………………….

is that the 1/48 dynavector kit?i was considering buying one but thought that it could wait a bit ๐Ÿ™‚ well i have talked around about building one of about 1/4 scale, i have found a suitable engine (s) and also a company who will build the retract system!!! all that remains is that i have a chat with the CAA (large model association) who seem to look rather grim at the prospect of someone my age wanting to build a model like this :confused:that is an awesome diorama there though!

    No is’t not Nash.

It’s the 1/72nd scale Resitech multimedia kit,now done by Heritage aviation.

The main airframe is resin, seats and u/c in whitemetal and all the main cockpit and u/c details in etched brass,
Cost me ยฃ40 4 years ago 2nd hand, but worth every penny.

Why not try the Large Model Aircraft association for a bit of help with your big r/c TSR?.
Their show is at Cosford about a month after the Airshow.I’ve been before and they have some pretty impressive stuff flying.

The non-existent “lumps” under the wings may be seen in the attached photos of a real life airframe. They appear to be fairings for the flap actuators.

And that picture “really” is of the very real, fabulous XR220 at Cosford.

I photographed her quite a bit when I built this:

I know where MrBlueSky got those drawings from(I’ve got ’em too-sorry Nashio,I forgot I had)

I know who the bloke who drew ’em is and I also know who the bloke that proofed ’em and said how accurate they are(very)is.

The bloke that drew and proofed ’em?,,,Barry Hygate.

He DOES know a thing or two about the TSR2 project.

Here’s the link to that Fs2004 TSR.

Watch the video. The shots of her coming down the glidepath and smoking merrily are just about spot on.

    Enjoy.

    Great pics there Spey.

Wasn’t that Canberra loose on the show circuit a few years back?

I seem to remember her displaying at Cosford.

    Anyone ever seen this page?

    http://86.83.246.186/tsr-2.htm

It’s tucked away and quite difficult to find.Scroll down the page to the “pictures”.There’s some superb in-flights of ‘219.

Also google for “Simshed”.They’re a Flightsim outfit and it seems they’re releasing a rather nice looking TSR for Fs2004.
They’ve done a pretty good video of their Fs model in flight and I must say it does look the part.

I’ll find the link and post it to said vid.clip.

Just to round the aircrafts story off, before they were scrapped crews from 101 Squadron used them to dispose of the unused Upkeep bombs.

This is an extract from 101 Squadron s History, The Lions Reign:

    “DAMBUSTING!
During August / September 1946 Al Greenhurst was a Nav on the Squadron. His crew were attached to Scampton for OPERATION โ€œGUZZLEโ€. This task was to dispose of unused โ€œUPKEEPโ€ bouncing bombs into the deep Atlantic. These bombs were in a very sorry state so they had to be handled very carefully. Three very tired Lancasters were used, all survivors of the famous raid (ED932 AJ-G Wg Cdr Gibsonโ€™s aircraft, ED906 AJ-J Flt Lt Maltby and ED909 AJ-P Flt Lt Martin). Several trips were flown out to the drop zone a large area centred on 56N 12W where the bombs were dropped from above 10,000ft”.

    Regards
    Sandbag

Were the a/c’s reconfigured(i.e back to Dams raid set up)to do this job?
I too have seen a photograph of ED932(probably the same as NickB)parked on a post war airfield with her serial number painted under the wing in white and she’d definitely been reconfigured back to “standard” Lanc trim.

I think the pic is in the original “Lancaster at War”.

This Spitfire is the only T.8 built, the prototype for the Spitfire trainer and the only Spitfire prototype in existence. Say your prayers tonight that she returns to where she belongs, in Britain.
I’m buying lottery tickets by the wheel barrow load!!!!!:D

I knew you’d get in a “flap” over this one cuz:cool:.

I don’t think “our Jude” will be happy if your numbers come up and you try to park this one on the backlawn:eek: ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
