Any bets on how long before it’s a Hollywood movie???

A bit like miracle landing, only well acted 😉

Indeed but if you REALLY had to go I’m sure you could find somewhere else seeing as you aren’t 30,000ft above! things are slightly different then!

Don’t get me wrong… I don’t think anyone should ever have to pay to use any toilet so long as they leave it as they found it. They’re not going to roll this out – they have a bad enough name among the elderly and disabled community as it is

    Interesting how he says…

…how is this stunt going to lower the cost of air travel?

Surely if it is to be believed, there has got to be some ‘human rights’ issue attached to this as they would not be able to get away with charging people to use the toliet.

Not sure about this… they get away with charging 30p to use the toilets at Liverpool street station…

Thanks all! It’s impossible not to love those Titan colours!

Great looking 757 there, who does that belong to? 😀

It’s Mid East Jet. Quite pleased with that shot actually, because the aircraft came in very high and I was a bit concerned it would look a bit under the belly

Then surely they won’t be flying Ryanair, because they wouldn’t have purchased their ticket in the first place?

The next line of my posts says “I mean I can buy my granny a ticket and send her the confirmation by post, but when we start mailing boarding cards doesn’t it start to get a bit iffy?”

I worked for a summer with elderly passengers at Stansted and my university dissertation investigated the ways in which airlines sell tickets over the internet. A significant proportions of the older passengers I spoke to had not purchased their own ticket and someone else had purchased it for them.

I really don’t see how this can work!

What about people who don’t have internet access? Doesn’t this rather alienate a fairly huge swaithe of the population? I mean I can buy my granny a ticket and send her the confirmation by post, but when we start mailing boarding cards doesn’t it start to get a bit iffy?

I know that in the states the check-youself-in-machines at the airport are quite popular… wouldn’t that be a better happy medium?

I am yet to fully understand why interference is more likely below 10,000 feet. Or, indeed, why standing at the perimeter fence takin pictures of aircraft with my phone on doesn’t cause planes to come crashing down all around me…

I can understand why they don’t want us using electronic items in general; it’s distracting and we need to be able to respond if they tell us we’re going to crash. But this doesn’t explain the potential for interference!

Under what circumstances would one need to make use of a service like this?

Most ryanair flights are less than 2 hours… surely people don’t need to make calls in that time? do they?

At least i won’t have to turn my phone off when i get on board anymore

If anything, I’d say the velcro is more useful 😀

Thanks all for the great feedback

Although I didn’t realise it when I uploaded these shots, 7 out of the 9 are pretty new liveries introduced in the last 5 years!

My favourite has to be the US Airways colours… a huge improvement on on the previous!

True, it was interesting, but hardly unique to the A380… in fact all of these technologies bar the composite fuselage could be applied to the A318!

They should be landing on 27L this morning; they were yesterday 😉

It’s also very easy to shoot something that big as it gets airbourne of 9R (probably easier actually – i find it a bit big to shoot on approach)

SQ317 to Singapore departs at 10:55 (and arrives too early to contemplate). Not sure if there is an evening rotation too?

QF32 to Sydney departs at 11:25 (again, too dark during winter to shoot the arrival)

EK2 to Dubai departs at 13:45, having arrived as EK1 at 11:35

    Hope this helps,

    …plus a few scans from 1989 and 2001…

Love seeing some of that “old” stuff… by most standards 2002 isn’t that long ago, but theres a whole load of stuff there that we never see anymore!

    I presume you meant 1999 and 2001, not 1989??
