 That would explain all those AWACS aircraft flying before there was such a thing as “quick talk” and JTDS huh? I suppose it’s usless if it isn’t an AESA radar too?

Chinese Defence delegation arrives soon for test, trial of AWACS
Saturday July 29, 2006 (0153 PST)ISLAMABAD: A high powered Chinese Defence delegation is due to arrive here shortly for a test and trial of their Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS).
The team is arriving just moths after Pakistan announced it was going ahead with the purchase of the Swedish Early Warning System (ERIEYE).The Chinese system is said to be cost-effective and state of the art which is designed for both Airborne Early Warning (AEW) and Airborne Command and Control (AC&C) missions.
Pakistan has been in need of such a system for continuous surveillance of border and sea lanes of communication.
The system from China represents the current best choice of AWACS with powerful mission capability and availability in a cost effective package.
is there any Chinese equivalent of “quick talk” and JTDS?according to elbit engineers told Miltech, that without highly sophisticate communcation system, the whole Airborne warning aircraft will be complete useless.

article about new IRST for fighter aircraft, call “Hong Kwang-1” according to the translation ,Chinese IRST developed by changhong is a consider 4th gen.
IRST compatible to US and European version, superior to Russian version.
no technical detail is release.
The only official status for Chinese bvr AAMs is PL-11 for J-8IIs. Since the J-10 is not official, the PL-12 only arms the late J-8II variants as far as Chinese press is concerned. The PL-11 would still be the standard AAM.
The PL-11 is only recently acknowledged officially through the advertizement of the FD-60. And the reason it is publicized is probably because the PL-12 has superceded it in service.
The first Chinese PL-4 was fitted on J-8II back in the 1980s and early 1990s. There was also the PL-10 which might or might not have been the immediate ancestor of the PL-11.
The Flanker fleet has the R-27 (Su-27) and R-77 (Su-30MKK).
during the last zhujhai airshow, official spokeman, stated that further development for PL-11 been abandone.
according to last year issue of air international, russian claim that Indian AF SU-30mkk are slightly superior over the Chinese SU-30mkk,the Indian SU-30mkk radar system possess better target discrimination and carry some extra mode which is absent on Chinese version, aside from the radar other such as advance communication system such as encrypted SATCOM system. and ECM system may slightly downgrade.
well the first pic is now coming out and the tarp covering the hole seem small and most likely now it wasn’t a C-802 it would made a huge hole . the C-701 did this.
Do the ship stealth technology work? did the missile active radar seeker encounter problem trying to lock on at stealth ship such as saar? probably yes.the first missile did struck egyptian cargo ship, but there’s question about the second missile,LA time claim it was drone, another said it was Kosar (C-701),.
So the Kirov had a low RCS…? 😐
It was feature in IDR 1986 issue, Norwegian martime surveillance aircraft discover Kirov RCS compatible to small patrol boat.the ship was also track by the RAF with the same result.
No probs!
Hmmm, I’d be more inclined to think the correct order would be Kh-25MT. Reason being “M” is the baseline missile designation based on the whole modular seeker concept.
Did the China obtain the liscenced copy of KH-25L?last year picture showing Chinese engineers working on laser guided seeker, the nose cone resemble KH-25L.
why the sad icon. Agni-I was way better and lot cheaper/safer/faster to operate. A Agni-1 regiment can carry far more missiles with less vehicles than prithvi. so its inevitably going to take over.
ofcourse 800kms is a big range and they ought to fashion a cheaper micro-Agni with 200km range in dual boxed launchers (ATACMS style) for deep strikes in rear of battle area.
to save time and money,it will much wiser for the indian to ask the russian for assistant or liscense built,Russian battlefield missile such SS-21 or SS-24 were far superior than Agni-1.
the avonic suites look very advacne now if they solved the under power spey engine this would be a great fighter bombers.
the airframe is simple to old.there are report that PLAAF plan gradual phase out in 2013.
Dear Member,
That should have been the first clue to us members who have covered military affairs for over 20 years (I have written two articles on ASM one on the Otomat and the other on Sea Skua). The C-801-802 ASM are in the Exocet and Harpoon class. Remember what the Exocet did to larger British warships in the Falklands and the USS Stark in the Persian Gulf. I mean even if it did not sink a much smaller corvette it should have killed a large number of the crew and left the ship burning like hell.
Jack E. Hammond
correct me,something like 16 USN crews were killed when C. perry class frigate was hit by iraqi exocet missiles.during naval exercise in the aegean sea between turkish navy and USN,sinle sea sparrow (with 88 lbs of warhead) accidentaly struck the turkish destroyer resulting something like 12 death ,with the entire captain bridge damage.
Most of Israel death were crew standing at helicopter deck
An Israeli officer told the Chinese official press that it was an Iranian built version of the C-802 that hit its naval vessel.

most anti ship missiles are all armour piercing, but the damage inflicted on the saar class corvette small like being hit by small HE round.
according to La Times, the ship was hit by small remote control aircraft armed with small amount of explosive.
1. UAVs, including converted J-7 and J-5.
2. Q5Ds
2. J8A
4. J8IIs on a Chinese aviation mag
it could target drone, the old soviet also converted there MIG15/17/19 into target drone, same for the USAF turning F-4 into drone.
did the Israel navy personnel shut down ESM/ECM due to heavy civilian RF traffic along the coast?same happen to US navy ship hit by iraqi exocet missile.killing something like 35 crews, investigation by the pentagon discover that ship shut down her SLQ-32 ESM system due to overwhelming civilian RF traffic, resulting false alarm.
Re-posted from other Internet sources
===============================================================Off the Lebanon coast, a modern Israeli war-ship (70 crew, 85metre long), has been hit & damaged by anti-ship missiles fired by the
Hisbollah militants.Israeli military sources confirmed the hit & said the missiles were
supplied to the Hisbollah by Iran. The Israeli source said the
anti-ship missiles were manufactured in Iran but based on Chinese
technology. The Israeli further alleged that there are some 100
Iranians military personels serving in Lebanon & operating the
anti-ship missiles on behalf of Hisbollah (allegation but no proof yet of Iranian presence in Lebanon). Can someone speculate what this class of anti-ship missiles is??
We know all modern Israeli warships are well-armed & protected
with sea-borne Barak anti-aircraft/ anti-missile missiles (10Km range).
The Israeli are also conversant with RAM missiles technology for
naval vessels protection. Therefore, whatever get through the
Israeli ship defensive protection systems must be damn good &
very modern itself.
Can someone speculate what type of anti-ship missiles China has
that can do this??
Report two ship was struck, one egyptian freighter was also hit, damage inflicted on israel ship indicate small missile.
on the other hand the long range rocket that struck Haifa was iranian MLRS ,with 60km range, janes report that technology may come north korea.
