It was introduced into service in July 1940, without going into too much research, I can only assume as a night fighter.

As for the query list of BBMF a/c, we are talking rare types here that are not around in sufficient numbers to be either affordable to take on or too precious to even contemplate, ie the Defiant.
I recall the BBMF being interested in a Mosquito, but where would that come from now, would you have them sell another Spitfire to pay for it.

Do you mean the actions of those who have actively participated in or condone the act of gaining unauthorised access to other people’s property?

Urban Explorers may ‘only take photographs’ but the legacy they leave is the location of their ‘explorations’ and the sense that if they can do it why can’t anyone else.

You want to go and enter people’s property unlawfully then be prepared to accept the consequences, don’t wrap it up in this misguided notion that it is being done for the good of mankind.

I’ve done my stuff in the past, but that was 40 years ago and things are different and treated with suspicion nowdays, quite rightly so.
However, if I lived down the road from Long Marston and could easily get into see an apparently abandoned collection of a/c, I may well be tempted to have a look myself, human curiosity takes over I guess, thats the way of the world, wouldn’t you do the same yourself.

I’d be interested to know how many of you are whiter than white and never trespassed or ‘liberated’ anything when you were youths.

Well, whatever he’s done or wrecked or got ourselves into, the sight of Paisley and Maguiness walking down the steps together at Stormont has to be a great achievment and one I thought I’d never see.
As for that sad little public schoolboy called Cameron, anyone who wants to vote for him needs psychiatric help, God help us if he gets into power, and I’m very concerned that he will as a backlash against staid old Brown.

We had a torrential downpour yesterday evening, the worst I’ve seen for a while, madam had a big problem with floods coming back from the stables.
It was so bad that we literally watched the water levels rise in the pond until it started to overflow, we then had to fill buckets full of pond water to stop everything running away.
Our cuckoo must have a sore throat, it’s been calling continously since 7:00am and doesn’t seem to want to stop.
I got rid of the fibrous weed yesterday, I had to pick every bit of it out by hand then sort out the creatures trapped inside, some of the dragonfly larvae looked exceedingly large and fierce, I wasn’t too keen on handling those.
Don’t worry, I put the weed in a bucket and put it back in the river, so that anything left in there gets another chance.
Great moment this morning, 2 small fish have appeared, they are only about 30mm long, but look like sticklebacks to me, where they have come from is a mystery to me, probably from eggs caught in the weed. Hope the nasties dont get them.
Last week we had a willow tit visit the bird table while at the same time, a greater spotted woodpecker decided to investigate the telegraph pole, when he got to the top, he fell off and landed upside down on the power lines, most amusing, don’t worry, he was ok, unlike that cuckoo’s throat, he’s still going on.
