Does this count, I took this of it taking off from Stansted, 1980’s, I can’t recall the exact date, only the extremely long walk through the traffic jams to see it.

Incidentally, I gather that the CL-44 is still at Bournemouth without it’s engines, well it was last November, anyone know any different.

I just found a picture I took of this beast at Stansted in 1991, I can’t remember what it was or what happened to it, was it unique?

I’m sorry, but the Belfast was captured parked up behind it and running up his engines, I couldn’t resist showing it, fairly rare type though.

This could have been our regular local Braintree pal, he’s always flying in and out of the farm strip at Rayne, he hasn’t stopped flying all winter, in fact I saw him coming in very slowly over the house a few weeks ago when the weather was pretty terrible.
This afternoon I saw a Yak 52 heading for Andrewsfield, it was silver with a red lightning flash down the fuselage with a red star in the middle, it sounded great and I was wondering what the hell it was at first.
Apart from that, lots of Gazelles recently, Lynxes, Chinooks and on friday a very low and slow Apache.
We also see quite a lot of the Wattisham SAR yellow Sea King, he was out and about in some bad weather the other day, I hope he wasn’t off to Gosfield Golf Course.

Here you can see it in color, the image is taken from the wonderful book “Military Aircraft of the ’60s” and captioned as september 1961 at Bedford. 😀

Very interesting, I’ve just looked in my brothers photo album where my picture came from and it was definately 100% taken at Cottesmore BoB display in September 1961, it’s surrounded by other pictures of a USAF Delta Dart, Voodoo, RAF Beverley, etc etc, it’s unlikely that the other aircraft parked in the background in the colour photo were exactly the same one’s in the same position and besides, the only time we went anywhere near Bedford in those days was on the train to St Pancras.
I wonder how many other captions the book got wrong.

He’s now being projected further into the bad list because he smacked a photographer, it must be hard to live with those sort of people, would you like a lens being shoved up your backside everyday, I doubt it.

I hope that they are being cooked in true Pykie fashion as well, baked in clay over a campfire of stolen pallets, liberally soaked in the contents of diesel filched from the local lorry park, or is that hedgehog.
If Walkers want some wierd flavours, perhaps they should consult with Heston Blumenthal, some of the menus for his up and coming ‘Historical Feasts’ series sound quite exhilarating. How about Roman Trojan Hog flavour, a pig stuffed with sausages, frogs and a dwarf, seriously!!!
Better not hang around the Leicester area if you are of less than average height, or have a green tinge and swim a lot.

I can’t believe the amount of bend in the M11 as shown in that photograph, is it real, where was it taken from, certainly not from the overbridge in the village, with the Varsity flying about as well, it all seems a little surreal and contrived.

There wasn’t an airshow that day.
When the B-29 was delivered, my brother happened to be down for the weekend and we learnt of the event on our local TV station and went along to see it. By coincidence, he happened to be down to stay with us when the B-52 landed, only we had no idea it was happening and missed out on the event, we only saw it on the local news afterwards which provoked the biggest cursing and swearing session in history, thank you internet sites for letting us know of these events, to be able to witness the arrival of the B-17 from across the pond at DX last year was sheer magic.
