Bagram Afghanistan, January 1981.:eek:19 Afghan Su-7 parked:eek::eek: Camouflated planes are Su-7BMK and some “Silver” two seat trainers. At right Soviet Su-22M3 an Aeroflot An-24 taxing and a Mi-6 in the extreme left of the photo.
First time for me to see Afghan Su-7 in operational status (at the time) and in those large number.

He obviously doesn’t. Ethiopia has been a Christian land for centuries. Ever hear of the Ethiopian Coptic Church? One of the figures mentioned in the New Testament was an Ethiopian, for example.
I speak of airplanes, not of religion. Ethiopia can buy airplanes to whoever independent of its religion. However, if somebody has felt like victim, although not why, my excuses.
Sorry for my non good english.
Regards from Spain.
why would Ethiopia buy an aircraft it retired in 2001? not to mention it has many in storage.
Well, perhaps the price for the Fishbeds is cheap or simbolic. A gift of “muslim brothers”. Always is better a recently overhauled Mig-21 than a ethiopian Fishbed covered of dust and sand. Is reported that algerian Fishbeds are still in good condition. Ethiopia is not an “state of the art” technology country, and (unfortunatelly) a poor country. I think that the Mig-21 is a good choice for ethiopian pilots. Unable to obtain better and expensive fighters. But is only an opinion.

Photoshop or real overpaint ?

Ex-algerians Fishbeds overhauled in Ucraine for resold. The buyer in this case was obviously Ethiopia.

You missed one. Note four Algerian Su-24 Fencers parked on the ground. The base is probably Laghouat.

Another one from Odessa: Egyptian MiG-21, upgraded by “Odesaviaremservis”.

Thanks for the clarification about the flag mates. π
As Banshee, me also collect military photos from Internet. Sometimes is impossible know if the photo showed is a genuine caption or stolen from other pages/authors. I noted pages like irandefence.net that sistematically add a watermark in photos that i have see before in other sites. But i have see also this practice in other pages. Sometimes is very difficult find the true origin of a photo.
This is just my opinion.

This is by far the best topic in one of the best sites in the whole world wide web.
I also believe (perhaps naively) that making this complaints “in public” will touch others and make them realize how wrong (and pointless!) their attitude is.These aren’t my photos, but from people that entrusted them to me. As such, i owe them respect for their work (and risk!). Sharing is a wonderful thing, and every effort to preserve it is always welcome, in my opinion.
But flex, you’re right too! These are certainly not the best posts in town, and surely ones that no one likes to read in a topic. So…. back to the photos!

I’ve detected what has been already posted on ACIG website, from which several extra photos cannot be also found. :diablo:
As a matter of fact, I was supposed to post them someday, but he seems to have pounced on it earlier than me and was a bit quick on the left mouth click this time. lol π
These are actually part of what he had left out inadvertedly. π
