TESTING AVIONICS PAK FA IS CONDUCTED ON A UNIQUE STAND

Testing avionics fifth generation fighter (PAK FA T-50) conducted the design office of “Sukhoi” (OKB Sukhoi) for the recently commissioned a unique stand-loop simulation (SDP). It is designed for ground integration of avionics, armaments fighter, as well as to accompany the flight tests of PAK FA. Conducted on it working out will significantly reduce the number of test flights on experimental aircraft. stand created by experts bureau and provide a solution of the complex problems related to the verification interface board systems together all implemented in the on-board equipment (CCD) communication channels, hardware software integration onboard systems in real-time.

He also practiced modes of the aircraft (AA), the interaction logic board systems in all phases of the aircraft, the pilot logic of interaction with equipment and aircraft air attack (TSA) through information-control field, the preliminary verification of the conditions of the flight test evaluation flight experiment. SDP is unique technically complex modern hardware and software systems. It is composed of static and dynamic simulation equipment, real avionics executed by AK with full cabin and visualization system zakabinnogo space. His simulation equipment operates synchronously under the central computer system, ensuring consistent with aircraft equipment and weapons aviation system in the conditions close to real flight fonotselevoy a given situation.

This approach allows the CCD to work out interoperability between themselves and with the weapons with the pilot in the loop at every stage of the AK all the tasks of specified aircraft systems. Available in the test bench system for monitoring and recording enables professionals in real time of the experiment to monitor the quality of the systems and the pilot, quickly adjust the course of the experiment on the bench, and on its completion in-depth comprehensive analysis based on records registrars objective control. feature built complex avionics perspective AK developed in broad cooperation between enterprises, is that all his information of execution paths are collected and only closed loop simulation on the stand. Deep integration of hardware and software systems avionics perspective AK requires a huge amount of castings, which may be performed only by the Sukhoi Design Bureau created the stand.

Its new information for me. Was there some competition? Of course, we “know” about “light fifth generation MiGs project”, “MiG 1.24”, “MiG 1.27”, “LFI S-21”, but were they real intended projects for some cmpetition? And… what is “”? MiGs proposal or some state program? Honestly I doubt that any one of us knows it.

As far as we know a competition had been held for the LMFS (light multipurpose fighter aircraft) project and the proposals had been taken from the manufacturers. I can’t remember clearly which concept did the Mig corporation submitted but eventually no progress yet.

Just keep in mind that the funding aviable in the Russian defence and its AF, is limited.
So when one starts to talk about force and power projection, its not like the $ or in VVS case Ruble come falling down from heaven..

The Pak-Fa program may not be much when compaired to F-22 and F-35 programs. Nor should it. The Pak-Fa is quite costly for Russia(and India!). And when counting in all the other units like Su-30SM, 35S, 34. Several upgrades package program. I think we all see the funding has been streched out.. so how much more funding can we expect to see in the future.. not a whole lot!
The next bean counter is Pak-Da.

Thanks for the info about the Russian defence budget havaaarla 😉 But as i said before if its created both LMFS and PAK-FA will share the common technological base with different designs so i don’t think it will be too much costly when compare with the creation of an aircraft’s deeply modernised version and maintenance costs of other aging aircrafts. Probably they had already analyzed it long before.

LMFS is *not* part of pre 2020 spending plan.

As all we know LMFS program has been canceled after evaluating the proposals from the manufacurers. So in my opinion there is such a demand (necessity) and LMFS program shall not be closed forever.

MiG-35.

And after the Mig-35 deal according the old statements decision for the development of a new lightweight fighter will be given after the year 2013 when the expenses of the PAK-FA decreases and have been developed the necessary technologies which can also be used at an lightweight fighter.

Yep and when the last Mig-29K has been delivered to RuN, it will be the last of the Migs 29 famely. No new LMFS for VVS or RuN after this.

Sure there will be and probably its decision will be given this year or the next year according the previous statements of the officials. And its a news from yesterday.

PROMISING LIGHTWEIGHT FIGHTER CAN BE UNMANNED – DENIS MANTUROV

Moscow. February 27. Airports – Promising lightweight fighter may be unmanned, suggested the Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov a lecture at the Moscow Aviation Institute. “Perhaps, at some future light fighter should appear, but it will depend on the military doctrine and the position of the Defense Ministry. Today, these plans no. My opinion, as someone who analyzes the situation that features a light fighter should carry out drone “, – he said. minister also noted that some of the tasks of a light fighter can perform the Yak-130.

TURKEY IS WORKING ON ITS OWN FIGHTER

Turkish experts commissioned by the Air Force working on the draft of the first domestic fighter, trying to technically look 20 years ahead. As the newspaper writes, “Haber Turk”, a group of “brainstorming” the fundamental principles and characteristics of advanced combat vehicle, the ITAR-TASS . Of the six proposed conceptual models Force selected three, work on the design that will continue until the end of the year, after which it will go to the designers approval to the Secretariat of the defense industry. The specialists have a difficult task – to predict the level of technological development in 2030 in order to create a modern competitive aircraft. engineers and military experts believe that after the 2030 air link will consist of a single fighter with a pilot and four unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs ). In this version of the fighter being developed with two pilots. One will be responsible for the proper management of combat vehicle, the second pilot will control the UAV. It is assumed that in the 30 years of this century will be received technical ability to effectively block communication with unmanned ground command posts, so the current will be a matter of managing these devices directly into the air. Experts offer sheathing body armor fighter based on compounds with boron. Such armor has been used for quite some time, and in the USSR in the 1970s, began investigating the properties of this element as the basis for reservation of military equipment. Boron, as noted by Turkish engineers, provides a number of advantages in comparison with other substances. Boric armor lighter, has a sufficient density and provides adequate protection. It can withstand high temperatures, which allows booking engine. In addition, the composite armor with boron has the effect of invisibility to radar facility. choice towards the use of boron is not accidental. According to experts, 72 percent. of the world’s boron is in Turkey. This was enough for the needs of the world in this element for 450 years. particular problem for Turkish experts is the engine. In order to develop a jet engine “from scratch” would take about 30 years. For this reason, the first Turkish fighter plans to raise import engines simultaneously engaging in the development of domestic. “Haber Turk,” notes that the Turkish developers are going to negotiate the purchase of engines from major manufacturers from the U.S., Europe and Russia. But in contrast to the power plant on the fighter radar may well be our own. Local defense companies have “stuffed hand” and suggest the army competitive technologies. Modernization and procurement of military equipment is being held by the Turkish army on the condition of machinery equipment as possible domestic units and systems. In recent years Turkey has been actively considering the issue of revitalization of the local defense industry and the replacement of foreign (NATO) technology to domestic counterparts. In particular, recently presented the first working concept of main battle tank has been tested light training aircraft, unmanned vehicles have been tested in competition with Israeli and American models. Turkey also participates in the fifth generation fighter F-35. In this case, the aircraft will be found a large number of fuselage and engine of Turkish origin. Actively develop the creation of original rockets and tracking systems.

TsAGI scientists are working on a new small aircraft

Specialists of the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute. prof. NE Zhukovsky (TsAGI) developed a technology platform (a set of interrelated technologies) available light multipurpose aircraft (LMS) with advanced missiles. The platform can be used for creating long-term aircraft on 9, 13 and 19 passengers, which must meet the requirements of the Russian market of small aircraft and have to compete in the global arena.

Work under a contract with the Ministry of Industry began in 2011, the press service of the institute. TsAGI proposed set of technical solutions in the field of aerodynamics, materials and structures, management systems, providing a significant improvement in the technical level and the consumer of the aircraft. Scientists are working on the creation of the airframe of polymer composite materials, automated management system LMS and wheel chassis in the base case and the stand-alone module chassis air cushion pressurized cabin availability, use two turboprop helicopter motors connected shaft synchronization, etc. Special attention is paid to the exploitation bezaerodromnoy LMS, which is important for our country, especially in Siberia and the Far North. Developed aerodynamic design, which combines a high aerodynamic efficiency at cruising flight with high lifting properties at takeoff and landing. The calculated aerodynamic models confirmed by tests in a wind tunnel T-102. Stand on an air cushion landing gear has been successfully tested in the tube and in the Moscow Complex TsAGI hydraulic canals. Estimated FSUE “State Research Institute of Aviation”, in the case of creation, a new version of a light aircraft with wheeled chassis allow reduction in the cost of transportation by 18-45% compared to the An-2, L-410UVP-E and with foreign counterparts. This suggests that a family of next-generation aircraft MEL. The economic efficiency of a light aircraft with air cushion landing gear is also positive. According to the specialists of JSC “aviation industry” sales perspective LMS from 2016 to 2030. could reach about 1770 aircraft of all three variants for a total of about 4.5 billion U.S. dollars. The share of 19-seat versions will be 62% of the total issue, 13-seat – 25%, and 9 local – 13%. In general, studies have shown that in the case of developed TsAGI technical solutions and technologies new Russian aircraft will have to compete in the domestic and foreign markets, as well as ensure the availability and security of the local aviation and Aerial. TsAGI establishment considers promising technology demonstrator aircraft prospective LMS, which can work out and verify the declared promising and innovative technical solutions. Draft design of the demonstrator was developed in 2012 in cooperation with specialists of TsAGI KNIITU-KAI by “Aerorik” and several other organizations as part of a contract with the Ministry of Industry of Russia.

Russia to test hypersonic missile this year

Russian Defense Ministry to set a date first full test launches promising hypersonic missile capable of speeds up to Mach Five (about 5.8 thousand kilometers per hour). According to the newspaper “Izvestia”, the tests are scheduled for July and August 2013, and will be produced at the site in Akhtubinsk Astrakhan region.

The project to create hypersonic missile secret, so neither its code, no problems, no performance characteristics are unknown. The first test launch took place at the site in Akhtubinsk in 2012, but they can not be considered full. The inspections rocket separated from the suspension plane runs its own engine, fly a few miles to subsonic speed and landing.

The purpose of the preliminary tests was to check the throwing of control rocket in flight and its interaction with the system start-up and on-board equipment of the aircraft carrier. In the new test launch parameters will be expanded: the rocket will carry longer flights already at hypersonic speeds, and the engine will run ammunition in several modes.

The development of hypersonic missiles actively conducted in the USSR in the 1970s, but in the 1990s, has practically disappeared. In particular, “the NGO engineering” to develop missiles “Meteorite” and the late start of work on the machine with the code “4202”. ICB “Rainbow” in 1980 launched a project GELA X-90. In the 1970s, based missile system S-200 missile was created “Cold”, which was able to develop a speed of six thousand miles per hour.

Currently, “NPO engineering” is involved in a joint development with India hypersonic cruise missile “Brahmos” is capable of speeds up to five Mach numbers. In addition, the Corporation “Tactical Missiles” is engaged in the creation of missile capable of a speed exceeding the speed of sound in the 12-13 times.

In September last year, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin announced that the country plans to create a “superholding” which will develop hypersonic technologies. The holding company is expected to enter the corporation TEV “NGOs engineering.”
