Hi,
Alternatively, if a Merlined Manchester AND Lancaster had been operated by the RAF, would there have been a need for any of the other ‘Heavies’?Tony
Hé Tony,
Steady on man, if this had been the case I would be working on a Lancaster cockpit project, a friend of mine is doing that already. Who needs two Lanc cockpit sections? 😮
Besides, then we would have to call Mike “Manchman” or “Munchkin” instead of “Lancman”. :p

Thanks Guzzineil,

Yup, It’s a Griffon. You can never beat Bruce (not literally spoken of course).

I’m with you Kev, but it won’t work so I would settle for a Spitfire Mk XII and a Mk 21.

So what we have here is actually a very late production 109?
I love them, keep them coming in Staffeln bitte

L*wlife B*astards.
That sums up my feelings. Our organisation was involved with the investigation and eventual recovery of this particular Lanc.
Some people…… 😡

Yes, a brilliant piece of work. 😮

My vote goes to all the usually nameless guys and gals who wield the spanners and the polish up at the BBMF.
Without whom…
John Romain and his crew

From the Dutch side:
I personally don’t think there is something like a clique on this forum, the recent trips by Steve P and John P (is this a pattern?) have proved that as well as the many forum meets. I wish that I could attend some of these meets but there is a little canal in the way, but I will try to make Cockpitfest, Shoreham will be a no-show unfortunately (again 😮 ). Even when you haven’t met the forumites you know you have been friends for years. A privilege that hopefully continue for a long time……

Peter,
I contacted someone on the Pakistani History website sometime ago but he told me that he didn’t know of any surviving bits and pieces. Although there are some rumours about an airframe in either Pakistan or Afghanistan.
Would be nice if something turns up
