Thanks very much Mark,
Much appreciated. The HP52 is another one of my interests. Or should it be Handley Page Ltd. 😎

Hi Steve,
No, not that one but that is my fault, I had to be more specific.
I was meaning the other bits among which was a tailsection that were recovered by the Hunt Brothers IIRC and last thing I know was that it was put in storage at Jim Pearce’s facility.

There are some substantial crash remains of a Heyford still on the crashsite in one the UK’s high grounds. It’s in one of the books dealing with high ground wrecks.

Ok Guys,
I’m game, hell it looks like my Back yard. Nothing a Skidder could’nt do to get into.
Peter is there and small clearings near by and who has control of the Lake. IE is it a Paper Company or is it the Gov.?
Cee’s was this the one you sk me about when I was going up to Nothern Canadia to have a look at.
Cheers Crazymainer
No, I don’t think so. 😮

cees,
That York is pretty much spoken for. I believe salvage rights are soon to be granted once the last hurdle is overcome with the local gov’t
That’s great news Peter,
I hope that she is properly restored. Now how about that Lanc/Lincoln in Watson Lake. About time the substantial wrecks are brought in from the cold.

And there’s a third dangling from the roof in the Sinsheim museum, although it looked as if it had more than a little fibreglass in it! I’ll post a photo over the weekend.
This one was recovered from a Swedish lake if memory serves met correctly.

Caution! Wet floor! 😮 😮
About the York
Or, how about using the wings and tail to reconstruct a Manchester 😉

JDK
Message sent. Who knows. It has been gathering dust in the attic for years and I don’t have a use for it.

This is too good an opportunity to miss. This is the only third York extant.

Could this be some misunderstanding?
As I have read in a Spitfire book once that (with a stiff wind) a Mk IX Spit could get it’s tail off the ground withing fifty yards. With all the power and weight of the cannon it wouldn’t surprise me.

Great news!!!! 😮 😮 😮

JDK,
If the RAFM need one I can provide a Mk IIIa gunsight for the Defiant to complete the interior of the turret.

Thanks Al,
I spent most time gathering the fittings, the casting (or so it seems  ) which fits at the front of the seat is in fact welded together from 3 mm steel plate. It worked as some people were fooled to believe I have found an original Halifax seat casting. A bit of creativity helps.
All that needs to be done is the sheet metal bit but a friend of mine who works for KLM as a metalworker has offered to do that. Who am I do refuse :p The cushion is original and stamped A*M 1944.
I had a feeling that Popham would be a bit dissapointing. I also enjoyed having two seperate aerojumbles in one weekend last year. A two day event could be too much.
Talking about the YAM cutaway nose section, I noticed that there was a very good looking (or as Ian Foster said: “where did they got that original seat from????”) pilot’s seat in there. The Halifax has a totally inaccurate seat fitted. Perhaps one day.
