I’ll try again…
Wys: forget projection televisions. Proper projector with a GOOD screen takes up much less space and gives you a much better picture. 1000ansi lumen projector would give you a bright enough picture in daylight when indoors… outside film shows in the summer evenings….:-). Screen quality is THE most often overlooked aspect with video projection. Limited lamp life can also be a bit of a pain.
Moni is one nice looking microlight; quite amazing performance on such a small engine. I trust yours was the riveted version and not the ‘carpet tape’ bonded original! Did you suffer any problems with the cockpit canopy popping open? It seems quite a few people have…

MINIDOH: CT2K (?) a Czech design I think, not unlike the Jabiru UL. An expensive bit of kit (and aerobatic) if memory serves correctly, very nice.

I think Nicholas Lyndhurst did have a PPL, but has been advised to stop flying on advice from his insurers/BBC/Equity(?) as they think it too dangerous an activity!
Yes he does now you mention it. I remember half destroying a PFA rally display tent (1991ish) to get a (I think) Tomahawk out for him! (at the request of the company owner).
I would be most suprised if Equity would say that it’s too dangerous, since they administer the ‘Stunt Register’… Training to get on that IS dangerous! Insurance is more likely to be the reason.
Ageorge : Only when the public aren’t in! Makes a pretty good ‘Games console’ too!:D Complete with inbuilt bar and sofas. It does however date from 1935…

Ah!, can beat you both on that score! My screen measures 32 feet by 16, with full surround sound:D Why did you get a plasma when you can get much more compact installation and bigger picture with a video projector (and a good screen)? Plasmas have always been very heavy; nice toy though.
R Weaver: Hang gliders, great fun, minimal regulation and reversed inputs when compared with ‘conventional’ aircraft. Flying costs that can’t be beaten. I did an EPC (Elementary Pilots Certificate) a few years ago in Wiltshire.
The only microlight I have flown was an AMF Chevron, fun on 450cc just a motor glider really. It wouldn’t stall or spin.
Yep, thats the one. Shame about the retracts going the wrong way, it would however give you the correct sized hydraulics and plumbing as a good basis. You could put the port undercart in the starboard wing and it’ll go the right way!;-) Turning the stub axles 180 degrees would then put the wheel s back where they should be…
She used to get chucked around the sky most weekends; sometimes seen with Pitts (G-BOOK?) and frequently in formation with atleast two others aircraft. Great bunch of guys with a great ‘toy’ collection. Do you know where G-BBJI resides now?
WAR Sea Fury.
Hi Daz,
Can’t help with the Monnet, but did you have a look at the undercarriage on a WAR Sea Fury replica? I know that had a hand pumped retract system, similar to what you are looking for. There is one over here, I used to swing it’s prop at the weekends (quite) a few years back. There was also a little blue Spit in residence.

Forum meet…
Who would be interested in a walkabout around a deserted ex-Pathfinder airfield (I am fairly certain that I can arrange access to RAF Upwood) in the morning, followed by pizza/kebab and beer(s)…with a film, in real 1930’s cinema? Films are limited to those on 35mm or digital formats… the choice is of film is entirely open.
(There would have to be a small donation to cover the film and cinema). There are several options for those that may wish to fly-in…

Oh, yes, the first 109 flew with a RR Kestrel too. (see earlier debate…)Real Messers have Merlins! Yo!
PS I quite like ‘Real’ 109s, but the Buchon is for me… [/B]
…but we all know that they were mean’t to have Junkers Jumo’ or BMW116 😀 😉

RN Shore establishments were ‘brick-built Frigates’, all carried the names of ships. I as far as I am aware they were simply known as ‘the HMS XXXX cinema’.
The majority of us wouldn’t have a hope of being able to run any of the ‘big stuff’, something like this is perhaps slightly more realistic. I believe it’s also for sale.
Gun pods? not at all sure about that, I’ll ask.
Performance would be interesting; there’s a large 6 cyclinder attached to that small airframe:D It’s a bit of a rarity so far as Cessna’s go since it has a ‘stick, not a yoke.
oops….
PhantomII: Yes, it’s an 0-1 Birddog. We don’t tend to see much of the smaller types on here and I thought it would make a change.
Re the rocket installation> I got the wrong end of the stick when the owner said they were used for display purposes, should have been ‘static display purposes’ 😮 ….
Here’s the correction:
The rocket launcher installation on this aircraft is approved by the FAA and has an STC. The MA-4A racks are original. The launchers are exact
replicas manufactured from Cessna Drawings but are non functional and cannot be made to operate. The Rockets carried in the launchers are inert with dummy aluminum heads and are rendered inoperable. There is no wiring in the wings from the launcher installation to the cockpit. The installation is strictly for display purposes and is totally non-functional.
mmitch, Yes, I quite agree. I must admit that I found it surprising too. The rounds are phosphor and used (presumbly they are also issued by the US Military) for displays at airshows and for film.
LAst one for the moment.
It’s based in Florida…
