Is this murder?
…as I said, a 24 month period on Death row for such matters.

Ian Brady has always known that there was no possibility of release and that he would die in prison.Personally I’d make every effort to keep him alive as long as possible rather than afford him the luxury of a quick death. No doubt,in view of his expressed wish to commit suicide,he would class efforts intended to keep him alive as torture .
Well, his quick death is no luxury to most of us. It cost the taxpayer at least £4 million to keep him alive for 30 years. Why, that’s almost a Eurofighter!

Wow, well said, bet you feel better now!:)
Must agree with your comments.:D
I should be the Prime Minister. Except I’m bright, educated, honest, have normal sexual proclavities, common sense, values, scruples….so politics is out. The drop in pay would hurt too.

The users of torture don’t really care if their methods stand up in Court. They need information, fast. To prevent something bigger happening.
The Police torture, such as beating the daylights out of somebody just so they confess….clear up the paperwork and get the Chief Super. off their back etc. is bound to end up flawed.

One of the two gentlemen quoted above knows exactly what he is talking about, based on many years of direct, first-hand experience.
The other does not.
See if you can guess which is which.
I’ve had a few pints in his pub. “Help the poor Struggler” (How apt!!) in Hollinwood, Oldham. Long since closed and in fact demolished for the motorway. I hope somebody kept the namestone off the front.
Albert Pierpoint was a raving bonkers religious looney catholic (Apparently you had to be up with God for your CV to be considered for Hangman).
His brag was that he could pick up the prisoner from the death cell at the start of the Westminster chimes and have them stretched by the 8th bell. That is fast.
The courts handed him a job to do, unfortunately a couple of them were wrong. Hence he is bound to have regrets on the task. Unlike the firing squad, where one of the squad has a blank and thus none of them knew if they had it or not, thus allowing an honourable exit from blame…..Albert had a lone job. His calculations, his knot, his hood, his command.
Furthermore, in those days murder in it’s “purist” form commanded the death sentance. I do not wish for that, there are plenty of rage killings, which is not pre-meditated etc. I myself have battered a burglar, what if he’d fell backwards and split his head open?
Crimes of rape or murder on a child is my bug-bear. There can NEVER be any excuse for it, the thought of allowing those perps. to stay alive repulses me. Death sentance is a must, and I’d like to make it into a spectacle. That latter point repulses some of you.
Please do not compare my opinions with those of certain nations, those nations have a 100% flawed system, based on a 100% flawed ideal. And, they are wrong.

Hang on, this isn’t about swearing. Totally acceptable in Australia, and totally acceptable from the likes of the God of modern comedy Mr Billy Connelly and many many others.
It’s because a “chef” decided to rip into a newsreader, apparently a popular one.
He’s a good chef. He was a good footballer before that. If his language was the barrier, he wouldn’t get so many invites for world tours etc.
As for Jeremy Clarkson, he is the only Brit on TV that is speaking up for british values. The rest cow-tow to the political correct garbage dreamt up in the 80’s by pinko idiots with nothing better to do than assume that THEY need to speak on behalf of others……which is the biggest insult to “The others” imaginable.

Now imagine if it were Stefan Kiszko, Angela Cannings, or some other victim of a miscarriage of justice.
Still think it’s such a good idea?
I wouldn’t let the likes of Hindley have any credit. But the idea is sound.
As for the miscarriages, damn right GA. That’s why it would need a 12-0 jury, forensic and a lot more. Probably a 24 month Death row for appeals too.

You’re probably right. I’d probably want to rend them, limb from limb.
And for that very reason, I’d the least fit person to decide the guilt of the accused and, if such guilt was established, the nature of their punishment.
That’s how justice works. It has to be impartial and consistent – and that’s the bit that you don’t seem to understand.
Yes I do. Totally.
I would not be the Judgement. I keep saying it. The proven system is the Judge. I would just carry it out…very especially if it were my kith-n-kin.
CU Monday.
