We’ll attempt to be there for then but as I’m notorious for being late, don’t be surprised.
At least if Andrew-O’s coming, I should be able to see him towering above everybody else.

I have the greatest admiration for what I assume is the 18′ span Vulcan, but it doesn’t look quite right to me. I can’t work out what it is but I can see it’s a model straight away.
The similar size Victor looks spot-on.

Greetings from BlueNoser352, is this the documentary where they take young people of today and take them thur military trainning like they did back in 1944? I read about this on a UK television website, guess reality television taking hold worldwide! No real MG-42’s to face this time around I hope !

No, not “reality”, a real documentary and very good too.
2 hours long, including adverts. If I see it repeated I may tape it to keep.

As somebody who can put a spanner down and never see it again, I’m hardly qualified to comment, but how can you lose a propellor?

I was sure it had been mentioned before.

It’s only short-term memory that fails as you get older.

I have what I think is a cast-iron excuse for not commenting on the Tiger Moth pic. As it appears to have been taken in daylight, I was, at most, 12 hours old.
I was in Watford, extremely close to my Mum.

Brilliant graphic, Mark. Must be useful for something…

Proves my memory still works sometimes.
I was about to confirm it but I see I’ve been beaten to it.
The book doesn’t say how long he owned it for but, I think, in later years he had a Puss Moth. I suppose other aircraft he used may not necessarily have been his own, just company property.

I have a suspicion it used to belong to Geoffrey de Havilland. I’ll go look at some books.

Although meeting by the Merlins over Malta stand might seem a good idea, I suspect there’ll be lot of people around there. Identification could be a problem.
The Hastings would be simpler. A bunch of fat, bald, anorak-wearing, weird, train-spotterish, haggard (delete as inapplicable) people would be fairly obvious. Unless it’s pouring with rain of course, in which case there could be some extremely surprised punters trying to shelter and being grilled by some of our number.

Somebody seems to have taken a tin-opener to that Routemaster. Do they have low bridges in New Zealand?

    Are you sure?

I’ve seen the huge gas turbine Victor and there’s an equally large jet powered Vulcan.
