Speaking of threatening, doesn’t Taiwan have assault ships and a tactical transport capability aimed at a possible Taiwanese invasion of the mainland? I would assume this would be a counter offensive after any Chinese invasion had been halted.

If only real insurgents were this stupid

I was in a games video shop today where these three gentlmen were proudly joking about being insurgents whilst playing a training mission on GRAW on the display 360. This mission had this particular guy trying to destroy a Bradley, it was so amusing watching him get irrate every time he got killed and shouting that the damn tank wouldn’t blow up….he was using an assault rifle, didn’t occur to him that he might need something with a bit more punch :p 😀

They did it during the second Chechen conflict when they realised that during the first conflict the Frogfoot and Fencer were no more effective than a Flogger would have been. I think the re-activation lasted for the most intense period of the conflict…three months I think. I remember watching a CNN reporter reporting on RuAF activity and seeing two MiG-27s lift off with welded plates under the canopy laden with bombs.
It was the same with the tanks, during the second conflict the Russians realised that the T-80 could not offer any significant advantage over the older T-62 when blasting buildings and during the second conflict the T-62 (and reportedly the T-55) became the main tank in the conflict…though T-80s and T-72s were deployed in small number.
Wether or not the re-activation of the Flogger was an official thing or not I don’t know.

Well for all u F-4 fans out there, there is still hope that we could see the Phantom kicking terrorist butt. Don’t forget Russia re-activated a few MiG-27s for operations over Chechnya with welded steel plates for increased survivability, maybe the Israelis will do the same if things get worse!!! (Not that I’m hoping it will get worse or anything). In response to Iran having “5 nukes”…what the hell do u think Israel has equipping those “Dolphin” submarines…rotten eggs??? :diablo:

U know whats gonna be hilarious, it’s gonna be hilarious if it all does kick off and Turkey – a majority Muslim nation – allows the IDF to stage operations form its soil or even lends a hand with giving Iran and Syria an all mighty kick up the u know what….then this “it’s a war against Islam” crap will shoot itself in the foot won’t it…

U know, I once offered my support to the Arab/Muslim members on this forum when it came to debates like this but I retract all previous support.

And if Iran and Syria do start lobbing missiles at Israel I would imagine the residents of Tehran and Damascus would soon be running for their lives, whats the Syrian Air Force and its barely airworthy fighter force gonna do? If the Syrian Air Force is all mighty then why the blazes isn’t it establishing a no fly zone over Lebanon?…oh that’s right I forgot, they don’t need to cos the hand of God will appear and swat the IDF from the sky, blah de blah de blah and c**p
