How the hell does the pilot miss striking the ground with his rotor in the last one??? Or is it a trick of the camera???

Bring it back…we could do what u guys did with the Naval Aviation forum, where u talk about ships and other non-aviation related subjects…just call it the Army Aviation forum (attack choppers) and talk about everything outside of helicopters… :diablo: :p 😀

Daxiong, I finally found the aircraft I am referring too. It is the McDonnell XV-1 commonly referred to as the Dragonfly, it was apparently trailled by the Aussie’s and the pilots liked it so much they wanted to experiment with a gunship variant before the UH-1 entered service.
I haven’t been able to find many pics and the ones I have found I haven’t been able to…erm…”borrow” 😀 …but if anyone else finds some can we get some on here cos it does look fun to fly!!!

No rabbit Greyarea but I do have a little cat, she could easily fit inside a pot :p . I think she could hold her own against anyone attempting to cook her though, u should see the marks on my arms and that’s just playing!!!

I’m just recently out of a relationship, so I was looking for a bit of fun but I never knew I was this desirable…. :diablo:

Geez some women…(before I get it in the neck for that, yes men can be just as bad)

Articles weren’t on the net, there was a book published that covered some of the early choppers in service and the Huskie appeared in a section of the book.
If u think the Huskie looks weird, there was an aircraft that was trialed by the Aussie’s in the late fifteis and early sixties before the Huey came about. Can’t bloody remember what it was called but I’ll try the net and see what I can find…just u wait if u like weird u’ll love this thing!!!

Turbinia, that’s because most countries don’t trust each other! History has proven that it is often ur ally that turns out to be ur enemy, so what may appear to be a screwed up priority to you and me may be practical forward planning to the nations politicians.

So Bulgaria and Hungary are either buying or planning to buy expensive kit…may I ask a silly question?
In todays world would u rather prefer to be seen as weak or strong?

We could argue till the cows come home that certain nations, not only in Europe but in Asia, South and Central America and the Middle East are in a position to dis-arm.
Why doesn’t Canada dis-arm? It isn’t about to be invaded by the US.
Why doesn’t Austria dis-arm or Sweden or Norway or Finland or Belgium or Ireland or New Zealand or etc. etc. etc.
Simple reason, I believe an American fighter pilot (yes I know, I’m quoting a yank…first for me I think) put it well when he said “I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t have the stars and stripes on their aircraft because u just don’t know what will happen tomorrow”

As far as Hungary not having pilots for it’s aircraft…so what??? Anyone remember a little problem with the British AAC’s Apaches having to be put in storage due to lack of pilots???

These things happen, doesn’t mean anything outside of lack of proper planning!!!
