No10 gets my vote, jets are for kids:D .
Well mine is No6, a christmass pressie from my wife, a flight in the F-4 Phantom simulator and I was the only one who managed a carrier landing:p .
There are some brilliant shots in that lot, some very thought provoking ones too, well done to all involved.

John.

I agree with moggy, Cinemas are a bit of a no go for me as the cost of going versus buying a DVD is a bit of a no brainer.
Cinema……..2 x tickets = £12 not including travel, parking and bridge fees (we have to cross the Humber bridge to get to our cinema).
It’s not hard to spend £25 for a trip to the cinema.
DVD = £14.99……nuff said!!.

Re the Meteor V Tsr-2
For the initial flights they did low speed handling trials, the chase plane had to be a stable low speed platform to allow observation and photography of the Tsr-2, hence the Meatbox.
IRC they also used a Canberra chase plane too.

I would have said more likely to be Venom?

Some cracking pictures Brian, it’s just such a shame that they choose to put her in the ‘milestones’ hall.
This is not a ‘milestone’ airframe and does not belong there, oh well.

Who will be the jockey for the evening?, will there be any other notable guests.

It surprises me that no one has owned up to the damage, at the height the tailplane is it could only have been done by a lorry, lets just hope that either the person who did it owns up or the CCTV shows something.
The forces invloved to cause so much damage must have been incredible, especially when you think that the impact is on the trailing edge which will have inflicted damage on the other vehicle like a knife edge before it ultimatly colapsed to the shape it is here.
I hope the rest of her journey was uneventfull and look forward to seeing some updates.

Owing to the nature of the way the goverment ran the funding for the RAF then each time an airframe went to the scrap mans torch or the fire dump, they were heavily spares recovered.
Spares that could be recovered to be used again and also other spares that could be used a ground instructional equipment were recovered in some cases leaving an empty shell for disposal.

TT
It would be nice if the Hunter at the old Humbrol factory could be saved, IIRC Hull city council had plans to move her to east park and mount her as a gate guard there.
A fate worse than death really!.
That was a while back now and things have gone silent, I suppose once they work out how much it will cost to do it then selling her to line their own pockets might be a more attractive option.
Would need a re-paint and a new canopy but appart from that she looks to be in good nick structurally, the undercart is still there so she can be stood or re-mounted on a pole.
