I have a couple of local history books but can’t recal anything about a V1 bomb landing on Reeds, the Hope & Anchor pub which looks out onto Reeds has some history plastered on the walls so I will have a look next time I am in.

Might be a good idea for me to have a yarn with some of the more mature locals around here, maybe they can shed some light, for now I will have a dig in those books.

    Thanks Peter

I have hatched a plan for a Q-shed build but I am limited by space at the moment, as for the 1/72 320psi, well that might just push the boundries of taste:diablo: 😀 .

It goes a little something like this…..

A tripod mounted camera that is tilted in portrait mode and fitted with a very wide fish eye lense, a series of shots are taken ‘around the clock’ at regular degrees of separation.

A computor program is then used to stitch the shots together and flatten out the fisheye effect, also the tripod is the magically photoshoped out!.

This I think is the amature way of doing it but there are specialist companys with much more sofisticated gear to produce a better end result.

IMHO Newark have taken a brave step and it has worked, It has given me some creative ideas for the next time I visit.

I think the ever rising cost of insurance will get them before the Avpin runs out.

Avpin is still available but the laws and regulations on who can buy it, transport and store it is also very restrictive.

I have a groundcrew manual for the prototype Lightning XA847, the first British aircraft to exceed mach 2 in level flight.

Second to that comes my Lightning stick tops.

    2 x Lightnings
    Victor
    Comet
    2 x Buccaneers
    Jet provost
    Canberra
    Hunter
    Iskra

All ground running in fast taxi condition at Bruntingthorpe.

IIRC the APU on the Vulcan at Newark Air Museum is run up and they open and shut the airbrakes and bomb doors.

    John.
