John.
Wasnt the RAF duvet set was it with lots of Vulcans,Jagwars and the likes?
Yep I had one of them.
Spot on PP, come to think of it I watched the last 13 ship Jag flyby at Coningsby not just a few days ago.
Who knew as I slept in said sheets that I would slowly watch with my own eyes the demise of the Vulcan, SHAR, Jag, Lightning, Phantom…..oh god let me find a pint pot to cry in 🙁 🙁 🙁 .
John.
What version is it?, judging by the flares and stick top I’m guessing the PR one.
John.
I had a duvet with a montage of different jets, if I could find it I bet nearly all of them are retired now:mad: .
Damn Bex you made me blush now!!!:o .

The TSR-2 was not a total dead loss, technology used in her found its way into the Jaguar and Tornado, lessons learned in the design and production of the TSR-2 are still in use today.
In todays climate the legacy that the TSR-2 left behind far outlives any service life she might have had, we as a nation have lost the Jaguar and SHAR recently, both of which sometimes do not invoke the same emotions in people as when they come face to face with the TSR-2 at Cosford or Dux.
Try this thread for some more comprehensive information on the subject.

Would be nice if they could get the correct weaponry on the underwing hard points.

Despite the promises of a few airshow organisers 558 is not booked to appear at any airshows this year.
Booked or not the RAF are advertising her return to the airshow scene at this years Waddington airshow.
John.
Directly over my house heading towards Waddington today at 1530hrs there was an awesome formation of an Awacs, VC10 and Nimblob.
Also with them was what looked like a Hawk, possible photo ship?.

It has been confirmed that they will not be sold off to either museums or private collectors, they are to become BDR and instructional airframes.
Hence the move to Cosford.
