Hi Rab,
When we shot G-CEJP that day it was it’s last Glasgow Outbound it went to Lasham the following day for painting into Ethiopian colours.
Sorry Woody you’ve had it.
Fred.
Nice one Stuart I have never heard of that Airline before, I see from Anet it has been on the go since February this year too and is based at Hahn.
In colour scheme it is not unlike the Belgian outfit Cargo B that went under recently.
Fred.
For anyone interested I’ve put together a Video Clip of the A380 at Prestwick including some crowd scenes (well it’s never usually that busy).
The Video is 3 Minutes and 44 seconds so longer than any others I have done but it was a special occasion.
Hello Rab,
Your last one of the A380 over the Tower is defiantely the pick of the bunch for me, that one sums up it’s visit very nicely and a really good idea to get it at that angle.
It certainly put on a very good show with those tight turns in it’s 10 minutes at PIK and it came down lower for the go-arounds than many of us thought it would.
Fred.
Great video Fred, you must have been stood just up from me. Were you near a guy with a set of step ladders?
Yes that was me I came through with a friend for the good visitors.
I’m sure I got you in my footage, I’ll send you a link direct to see if I did.
Fred.
Great clip Fred, nice image quality too.
Thanks Alan I’m using a Sony 1080P HD Camcorder now which has helped a lot in improving the quality of my WMV’s.
Here’s a link to a touch and go from the 747SP.

And also one of the main feature of the day which was the AN22 arriving.

Fred.
P.S. The noise that is drowning out the AN22 was a Tucano which was taxiing by the Mound, for a little plane it makes an awful racket.
If anyone wants to see it in action at Prestwick here is a Movie Clip that I made up of it. (Link Below).

Ren,
The VS 747-400 flights should be returning with the Punters this Saturday and Sunday as far as I am aware and the same again the following weekend.
These are the flights to get as they should be arriving between 8am and 9am when the light is much better (I’m not 100% on those times that’;s what they were last year), the departures were all slightly late at various times between 2-30pm and 3-30pm when the sun was not great.
Fred.
Great stuff DJ, I see you got a Ryanair with lots of spray going off of the Short runway. That’s a cracker.
Fred.
Well done on the superb A340 shot Gary, Runway 10 and sunshine at the right time too.
Looks like a bit of a buildup in the background too with the snow/sleet showers that we have had in the past few days.
A run through Neat Image will sort your slight grain problem out with ease.
Fred.
The scary part was at the top end of the Beech where the German naturist pensioners hung out (literally), some big barrel chests and the men weren’t too clever looking either.
Fred.
And the second half.
Fred.

I’m keen Twitcher for that rare Airport species the “Yellow Hatted Chainsaw Warbler”.
Kevin phoned me earlier to say the Fir Trees have been cut down so that’s another nice spot for Glasgow next Summer in the evenings.
Fred.
Righto, and did they happen to mention that Manchester style, elevated viewing mound that was proposed a million years ago, last time I attended an enthusiasts meeting…?
The Viewing Mound idea in the Football Field was ruled out some time ago after Ferrovial took over and handed down the rules that a profit had to be made on expenditure, there was also a bit of an issue on proximity to it’s distance from “Area J” for when Royal flights come in.
Since then there have been enquiries about the possibility of Maintenance Hangers being built which was in the papers and so far have came to nothing, the places where they would have gone were near the Short Runway so apparently that came into it as well.
Various spots for a viewing facility have been looked at over the past year but nothing has come of any of them, it’s a long shot whether anything will be done but at least the BAA haven’t said no never.
We’ll see what happens during the next year on it but at least there has been a huge improvement around the perimiter for us thanks to be hedge going.
Fred
I don’t think that’s the plan and no mention of panelled fencing was made at the enthusiasts meeting a week or so ago, but I’m sure Fred S (who has the contacts I’m sure) could find out, hopefully not though as there are numerous new angles to take advantage of now.
There are no plans to do anything with the fence now that the hedge is down, well that was the answer as of two Tuesday’s ago.
Who knows maybe at some point things may change and tins may go on it but at the moment it shouldn’t be happening.
I imagine it would be expensive to tin sheet many 100’s of yards of fence and a Northerly Gale Force Wind would put quite a strain on the fence if it were tinned all of the way down without the hedge acting as a wind break.
Photo oppertunities look really excellent for Easterlies on Runway 05 I’m looking forward to that on a sunny day (whenever that’s going to be).
I haven’t been out for the last few days so don’t know if the Fir Trees on the North side are getting chopped down yet, hope so.
Fred
