Revell 1/144 scale?
7/1/13 Approx 2-30pm Spitfire PS853 was scene to the east of nottingham heading east.
And to the other question, wooden blades.
So the wooden blades may have prevented serious damage to the engine but do we know yet wheather just one leg retracted or was it ?
Re the picture in post 24,are we looking at wooden blades or replacement metal ones?,reminds me of the leg fold up on lf363 at duxford some years ago.I saw the spit about half an hour before the incident flying to the east of nott.Hope shes on the mend soon and back on the airshow circuit.Would love to see her at Hucknall air day this year.
Or they might wait until after filming?
Why are you saying “after filming”?,its been said that NX611 has no connection to the current dambusters film.
Whats the plan for the L39 david?
Picture this,on the way back from the east coast you turn off the A16 and near to east kirkby your met with the sight of NX611 flying towards you with undercaridge down for landing. You stop and watch her land with maybe a tear in your eye.You drive off and as you near coningsby PA474 with fighter escort passes over head after another busy weekend.I hope one day in the near future i and hopfully many others will see just this scenario and with the on going work on the lanc that scene may become very real.I wish the pantons the very best of luck. Alan
Happy new year to all the museum, more visits will be made this year especially the aero boot which i tend to miss for some reason, looks like busy times are ahead for you. Alan
I,m going for the original aircraft so its going to be dark brown.Thats a lovely cockpit shot by the way. Thanks alot guys. Alan
In Canada there is. Also, I’m sure the BBMF would be able to assist in some way.
Are edd straw and mike chadderton still with the east kirkby crew and if so would they be in a position to involved in the flying?
Mine was a matchbox Spitfire which i painted airfix no2 emerald green and put on the raf decals.
Biggin Hill is beginning to look like that!
A guy who worked for a company making parts for the aircraft told me the project had stalled at that time(approx 18 months ago)because of a spares issue with the engine. There was a few pics around on the net showing finished parts of the aircraft laying about covered in bird crap. The company making the parts closed down a year or so ago so i have lost contact with the person who told me the above info.
Congratulations rich,we spoke about this last week at Newark at the forum meet.Lets hope that 963 can get airbourne in the future and share the air with her two wartime relatives. Alan
😮 Once again I’m sorry – it’s a good job that I didn’t tell you that you’d driven over it when you went into the Southfield Site through the double gate in front of the Museum Shop! 😀
Can i pass this on to harry harris,he is looking for new dig sites for the new dig series!!!
