We just LOVED the Met boys! That bit where you had to hold the a/c down at 200′ directly after a night take-off, on a dodgy Radio Altimeter, in sweaty heat, so that they could calibrate their instruments. We were VERY impatient to get to a decent height ASAP!!

If I recall correctly, the P47 tanks were splitting at the seams in dive bombing run pull-outs.

Our job was to identify the problem. We came up with a pressure-test DI on all a/c.

I then went on to fly inverted as often as possible as a calmer.

Thoughts?

Having flown the 15, 21, 22, 23, 25, 28, it surprises me to see so much ‘fiddling’ with the stick..

NO criticism – just that we didn’t have a camera to watch us!!
