It’s wonderful to see such an important veteran of the Ilmavoimat’s epic struggle against the Stalinist hordes back to her former glory! The Hakkaristi, the dark green & black, truly show her as she was in those dark days.
Keski-Suomen is one of the museums I’ve always wanted to visit. Now there’s yet one more major attraction to see, there.
Martti, I have three questions:
1. Are the bomb-racks installed?
2. What about the mid-upper gun cockpit?
2. Is the Brewster still in Finland, or have the Americans taken her back to Pensacola?

How about trading these engines for Merlins so an early type Halifax can be reconstructed.
Not that I mind to see another Hercules version emerge;)

My 91 year-old neighbour (who still fits into his RCAF uniform!) would heartily disagree with you – the Merlin-engined Halifaxes were “dogs”, in his estimation. :diablo:

Post #8 1st pic looks like a Lockheed 18 Lodestar
Yes, it is. USAAC aircraft used the Northwest Staging Route very frequently for supply/executive missions to Alaskan bases.
Depending upon the engines fitted, it is either a C-56 or C-60.

Love that one of the Barkley-Grow on skis! 😎
The Canadian Car and Foundry F.A.T. 2 “Maple Leaf II” designed by Elsie McGill (had to look it up).
According to her wiki entry, she was responsible for the production of license built Hawker Hurricanes at CC&F. Interesting.
Moze
You da MAN! 😎
You have control.
Yup, Elsie was quite the gal.
The big Junkers is awesome. I never realized how much bigger than a Condor they were.
This one should be dead easy for you learned types.
However, I want more than just the aircraft type – tell me who designed it, with a bit of info. on said designer. 😀

This thread keeps droning on and on.
Chris
Yeah, Chris, I went to the Gyrodyne historical thread, but I cannot find ANY reference to the MANNED test-bed w. vertical floats…
Closest I can see is the QH-50 A.
