it doesn’t need canards. it will have an AESA by Mk.2 itself, no need to wait for a Mk.3..and please take your sarcasm to some other thread, if thats all you can come up with.
No problem, Sir. I will stop once Mk.2 has final decision on its engine, radar and other avionics. And when the final engine choice is not the Kaveri, then I will believe that LCA will mature in an ok light fighter within 3-5 years, after the first Mk.2 prototype has flown.
And all could be replaced by LCA Mk.3 It would have AESA, Stealth, GE F129 engines, canards, thrist vectoring and a plasma shield and will be ready for IOC in 2018. 😀
In the case of the Typhoon I would think BAE would be a good match for HAL. Just as Dassault from France or Boeing from the US. Of course I am not excluding the other Eurofighter Members. Just that I wasn’t suggesting multiple partners……………..:D
Eurofgihter is the same as Panavia, just add the Spanish to the mix. But as they are now part of EADS it makes no difference in the end.
replace 2 SRAAMs with ALARM nad it becomes impressive.
No. I think the programme is in real danger of beeing canceled. Regarding the engine problems. Well, those huge props produce immense momentum.
The idea was to solve that with electronics. Responsible for the control software is MTU, not RR.
So far it seems the idea to control momentum with electronically syncronized counter rotating props doesn’t work.
They will have to strengthen the wings. The A-400M is already a bit overweight, this additional weight won’t help to reach the performance goals.
In short: they can’t reach the range requirenments. Maybe even not the payload goals.
That is why they want to renegotiate the contract. With the contracted budged they can’t reach the performance requirenments.
Still the UK won´t drop out alone. RR is in there as a partner and via ITP.
Nothing. Perhaps EADs will have to pay for a SLEP on a few old C-130s, but not more. The main problem of the A400M is the engine and Rolls Royce is one of the main partners there.
Only some adivce. Many people use an aurplane because they have to get from A to B and they want to spent as little money as possible on it. So whatever you come up with should not cost more.
So larger seats and more room for the passengers are not a solution, as it reduces the number of paying passengers.
A rotating seat might be nice, especially if traveling as group, but even if the mechanic only weights in at 1 kg, then it quicky adds 150-200 kg to the total weight. And that in a time in which airlines have replaced their magazines with an onscreen solution to get rid of the magazine weight.
Imho your best 3 paramters are light, desing of the overheand bins and the seats. If you can make a light system that is nicer and lighter and uses less energy, then you are on track. Same with the other 2 things you can work on.
The question is how long Stealth will work. F-22 is an impressvie plane, even if Stealth is taken out of the consideration. F-35 is much less impressive if you take away the low-bobservable point.
Really different size. They did join in different competition only because it they where quite openly defined.
In line with the F-35 thinking F-16N looks like an answer. Get F-16N and perhaos you get F-35B when needs for ADS and F-35A later when the Jaguars and other types are up for replacement.
On the other hand I see not much what could stop Rafale from STOBAR.

As always, I know.

Are you really surprised. That is the price of a really new built MiG-29K. Seems like Russia has run out of leftover airframes and would have to really built new planes. Just ask Boeing for the price of a new F/A-18C.
