what is the MOST wanted panel ??
one for you instrument panel Buffs ,
If you could choose a Panel to restore or buy as a exellent repro,
devoid of all instruments ,
which would it be ????,
at least having a empty panel is a start, and a nice way of showing rare instruments ,
I am trying to find out the most wanted or needed panel for collecting,
me personally it would be a dornier or a Heinkel 111,
as Ive never seen a panel from one of these famous aircraft, if it was british well the list is endless,
would love to hear your wants/thoughts on the matter,
So whats this off…..

It’s a BFP certainly, but i don’t recognise the flaring out either side at the bottom.
.
I just wondered, would it be from a very early chopper, Saya dragonfly, -small military helicopter from the 1950s ??
Good luck with her Simon,
I was never all that fond of the Tornado, that was until Kemble 2008, It was a awesome aircraft .
I imagine even though there are lots of them Under MOD charge, with there scrapping Policy, I imagine they can be quite rare in Civilian hands
I imagine there will or is a very big growing interest with the Tornado, especaily as it served so well in the Gulf war, I imagine lots of them have some sort of combat history in that respect.
For those of you who like me collect aircraft junk, or collectables or go to aerojumbles, here is an interesting article I came across on the internet the other day. It’s from the independant newspaper (finance section) dated 2004.
The web site address is
http://www.independent.co.uk/money/invest-save/pick-an-investment-thats-sure-to-take-off-553401.htmlIt’s official, invest in twisted metal to beat the recession!
Very interesting Read, However, I wonder with the slump in Housing prices, shares etc ,if the Aeronautica hobby will be swamped with investors with lots of cash, which we saw with the classic car boom, at the last recession ??
out pricing ordinary collectors ,who have loved and done this for years ??

Iraqi weapons of mass destruction? Anyone?
Regards,

Ahh yes Kev ,I missed that one !!:D:)
Yes you are Correct, I full agree with you on that one,
But what i was getting at is, “you dont have to believe the Media Hype” because places like you tube are “Un-regulated” to coin a phrase,
there is a much bigger possibility that with a search you can find out things that years ago you would not,
Imagine the Horror if all the young men wanting to recruit for the Glory of King a country in WW1 were able to see the REAL trenches, Not the Glorified Version, Would so many have gone to the Slaughter I wonder ??
And yes its Funny how we all jumped into Iraq, Yet it took us forever to finally go into the Broken Yugoslavia and sort out the Mass Genecide that was going on, and we were too late , But then again,Life is Cheap, and Oil is Not,
I think the sense of outrage generally felt here is directly proportional to how close the incident was – close in time, close in that many of us knew of those that died (knew by association) and, in some cases, close by being a witness.
Who here hasn’t watched film of Bluebird crashing on Coniston more than once? that was 40+ years ago. Who hasn’t watched footage of a Hurricane diving into the Channel taking it’s pilot to the deep or a Heinkel and it’s crew perishing on Newsreels? that was nearly 70 years ago.
Regularly photos are posted on this Forum of aircraft wrecks where it seems obvious there were fatalaties. How soon after 9/11 were the first jokes made up?
I’m not defending the posting of the images on Youtube, still less crass comments made by some people that have watched them. We all live in the same World but we are all different – recognise it and move on.
Roger Smith.
Youve hit the Nail on the head Roger,
weve seen countless Jack the ripper , etc etc, it makes very dramatic viewing, and being a Curious race, we watch.
I have come across the same thing in Re-enactment a few years ago, medieval torture, the english civil wars , even Waterloo and the horrors of that war are viewed with great interest,
yet those that Portray the whermacht , or perticuarily the SS can cause outrage to some people, just by wearing the Uniform, and showing the wartime equiptment used in the front lines,
Now there is a massive interest in the Vietnam war, or Gulf war, How long -Say 20 years time before groups will be formed to portray front line allied troops, or Iragi Republican Gaurd ???, You may dis believe me, but honestly , It is a part of history we are living through, and i can see this in the future,
but like you say Roger the problem is , deep feelings of these recent conflicts and events hold dear to many a persons heart, and as such invoke “Outrage”
given 100 years i can see this being portrayed with No feeling,
Imagine if there was Re-enactment over 100 years ago, and a club of british enthusiasts dressed up as Napolionic French Gaurds, I think that too would have caused “Outrage” because of our feelings against our old adversary??.
I for one dont like reporters, But there is one good thing that has come from it, there is not the “Go to War rhetoric” that filled the newspapers of 1914
with its Go for Glory aptitde, that sent thousands of Men ,who believed the Media Hype and went to war, a war still to this day ,I wil never understand,
SO many lives for what i can see is just a european Power struggle between Kings ,Emporers and Hiers ,
what really did it have to do with the Lowly Peasant??, who believed the one sided media and thought all Battle was Glory and Fun, a Adventure if you like.
at least now we “Can” get the facts ,or most of them, and as such are more intelligent beings for it .
Just my ten Pence worth , hope you dont mind 🙂
spitfire canopy
this might be of use to some of you ?
God rest his soul, Rest in Peace Ted,
My Uncle witnessed that horror, he was aboard HMS Prince of Wales when the Hood went up,
It would be nice to think Ted will be re-united with his lost shipmates, all together in a greater place ,
Its a Sad Day for Britain, one of the Last of the Greatest crews that served the Royal Navy

the Men are gone , but they will never be forgotten,
We will remember them
T-33 Cumbria scrappy.
Talking of T-33, are those 2 smashed cokpits still in the scrappy in cumbria,
the two Ex Spadeadam ones ??
or has anyone managed to aqquire one ?
many thanks lads !!
i was unsure, but now youve solved the mystery I love bits like these, (they look nice in a frame ) the area it was found in was the Main Lancaster scrap facilty was, aparently there was row upon row, in the late 40s awaiting scrap, and we met a guy in his 90s who said it was a 24 hour operation, constant for a few years, Tow em in, Tick em off the check sheet , and cut it up, Pretty Brutal from what I can gather ,
thanks for the help
😉
Pretty sure this is wrong, as far as I know it’s a KG13C fitted to late jets eg HE163, maybe someone can give an opinion
mmmm, Just wondered if that is so , it could be from a early german Jet, Doesnt that make it rarer ,than a old 109 stick top, Even More desirable ??
Here you go Merkle – good starting point for you.http://www.europeanluscombes.org.uk/index.php
Ta very much, Armwaver !!:D
ive found that site last night,, and have enquired about a whole fuselage, all be it a little bent from a Prang a few years ago, Just awaiting chap to get back to me 😉
yes i did , and i did reply back via PM,:D
£49 for a bare and empty Canberra panel – come on!
Conversley the £41, no reserve Merlin XX project seems a good deal so far.
that merlin will go potty, I bet, 😉
Stab in the dark , a REAL stab in the dark, Would this be a memorial to Bleriot where Bleriot flew his first aircraft ???
or something on those lines ??
If someone wins do they get to keep the engine, LOL 😀
