Great to see some old shots from the good old days when there were still some good spotting locations. Round the perimeter must have been excellent in these days but we tended to stay around the central area as reggies were the important thing and photos were take what you get.
Couple of types there I haven’t flown in. Trident 2 (been in 1s and 3s only) and DC10. And as for backgrounds…. in background of the Trident shot is the comet. Add that no “not flown in”. Behind the Aeroflot I see a couple of little guys. If that is a Corvette then add that to the list, if a Falcon 20 then don’t add. I think that may also be a Be200 in that shot, in which case also no need to add.
I must look out some of my old shots and scan them in.
Some fine shots there, Phil !
What’s an E120 ? You don’t mean a Brasilia do you ?
I like the shot of Mrs Sparrow with that red background.
Nice selection of shots there Scotty. What’s the speccies like …. are you reasonably close enough to not need a huge lens ?
I like the occasional boat in the backgrounds but alas it is not Kai Tak. That was a place and a half. These IGS approaches……
and here’s a shot taken from my special speccies of a morning …… standing on top of the red and white checkerboard you see in the above pic…..
Couple of good shots there Kev. I like the BA 146 & 757. You always manage to have a good BA 757 shot in your selection. Could do with cropping a bit to ditch that eyeball distracting blue cran though.
Welcome back in one piece Scotty. Kaaaaaaaching.
I like the RYR shot.
Ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyye.
… Lyon many times, you can get great shots from the cargo area right by the TAT (AF Regional) hangar, and there is a “mound” way along at the hold for 18R.
This is shot just before the Regional hangar with just a wee pocket digital that goes up to 3x optical zoom.

Nice selection of shots there.
Does that Libyan Arab operate scheduled flights to Manchester ?
I should think so!:D
Nice pics of the seaplane there…any idea how well it is going for them in terms of pax figures at all?!
Don’t know exact figures but it has been doing well. The price is not bad when you think of it. Only £149 return between Glasgow and Oban. It’s an ideal gift or competition prize. They are hoping to run until end of November then start again in February.
I was doing some filming last week, on the river on the city council’s refuse collection boat. They were towing a barge full of bits of tree trunk and debris that they’d scooped out of the water. :p
As the Cessna approached and their radio crackled to life, the boat guys told me they were now in charge of ‘clearing the runway’ since the seaplane service had started.
Would that be the St Mungo then – the midden boat ? So, if they are in charge of clearing the runway … does that class them as an official airport vehicle and worthy of a photo here ?

Nice one Woody, I don’t think it lands from that direction very often.
It hasn’t, but the winds have generally been westerly since the service started. If the winds dictate it will land that way. Also, if the wind is calm it is advantageous to land this way and depart north westerly.
Cal;
The below shot shows the wheels on the 208, i shot this landing at GLA last week.
That pic further above… G-OLLS is actually a Cessna 206.
Here’s the 208 on low approach to the Clyde. You can see where the main wheels are retracted.
Nice…. I like #3
Glad you people liked the shots. Some seem to have lost quality on resizing and uploading to photobucket. Not happy with the Lotus and Carpatair to name but two. They are perfectly sharp but look all gooey here.
Kenny…. yeah, sort of holiday. Was over to take some pics. Out to MXP with Easyjet, all day MXP on Sunday then flew back Jet2 from Orio al Serio as I wanted to be there on the Monday (best day in the summer season).
Manston…. indeed you see a MyAir CRJ 900.
Heyyyyyy Scotty. Good to see you are getting some shots out there, and glad to see you missed the One-Two-GO. You can join the club! Welcome.
The Coooojet and the China Cargo are a bit mince looking when I look on the post. Much again to do with the upload to photobucket but also because they were shot over a distance whereas the others were on the ramp.
Forgot to include the shot of 321 in Alitalia new colours. So here it is.
And the TAM MD11. Too bad about it not being so sunny for this, plus the fact it came out on taxiway K – wide bodies are just a bit toooo close on K. A 777 is like a banana coming out along K. After this shot it was a change to the slide camera for the important shots.
Am planning on coming with my new toy, 1Dmk2 but will check the wx forecast during the week before I decide, however I will be open to brides to accept you pics on aero 😉
Of course you mean BRIBES ?
