Good show! I like the FlyBE.
Rab! Ye cannae go geein up because yer camera got gubbed. No insurance ? ANYWAY, you’ll get it sorted out somehow. Even if you get yourself a non SLR to keep you going in the meantime. I still shoot slides on my SLR but I got a Kodak jobber with 12x optical zoom & image stabiliser on the Kodak clearance web site for 137 quid. Check out things like that. Until you get a camera of sorts you can still hang around at the airport with canvas, easel and oils and still capture these images ! ๐
These were with the kodak p850, so it works OK

It was sitting on about stand 5ish when I passed this morning at 08:00ish.
Nice shot of the City Star Dornier landing with the blurred background.
Rab, next the RAF will be getting rid of undercarriage as we know it and fitting the tornados with Fred Flintstone style holes in the floor & giving the crew special bouncy boots.
Yeah, a pretty bogging day all round. At least it was like that all day unlike on Friday when there was plenty of sun until about 20 minutes before it arrived!
In pic #5, is that them emptying the toilet on the way out ?
Gid wee selection there Scotty. Very good movement for Islay, and very normal weather. Flown in there a couple of times but have never seen any other planes except us. The sheep are gid. That’ll be the day shift finished then ?
How come you were at Glasgae on 28th but you dinnae have a photo of the ะ ะพััะธั 154 ?
That G-VANA is a mad looking wee thing.
Yayyyyy… nicew Alaskan piggy! These things look like tightrope walkers with the winglets on.
very nice shots there josh i wonder who will win the game of chicken with XL.
The little guy is really scared. Looked, he’s even saying “Oo Mom!”
What times are the sea plane flights on the Clyde? I know they have three arrivals and departures daily but no idea of the timings.
It should position from Loch Lomond at the back of 9 for a departure around 10:00 to Oban. Leaves Oban again about 11:30 ish and back to Science Centre around noon or soon after. Departure again about 12:45 to 13:00then allow another 2 hours (and maybe a bit) for it to get there and back.
When it taxis out from Science Centre it should be another 15 mins until it starts its take-off run at Shieldhall. If you’re lucky you should be able to get some decent take off shots around Braehead (although if there’s a strong headwind or the water is having a “not so sticky day” it may have gained a bit of height by then). I haven’t been to Braehead to shoot it yet but it’s on the cards.
Keep an eye out for the wee yellow motor dinghy type thing that acts as a “lead car”. I think it lives across the river near the tall ship beside the heliport and Curry Karaoke place.
BTW … while lurking around the Science Centre area on Sunday this Agusta 109 popped into the heliport at 13:55 for a 20 minute fuel stop. First time I’ve been there when a visiting helo has come in.

The second shot of the Puma is nice !
Nice one Rab.
Is that up past the helicopters bit at Dublin ? Raised land beside the long term car park ?
Nice shots! Splendid ones of the 747 departing !
Well, you got a wee bit of sun anyway. Sod’s law when you set out on a mission eh ? A shot of the full Qatar would have been nice with that dark sky behind. Sunny subject and dark sky is the biz. Next time you need to bung the met man a bottle of whisky for full sun. 2 – 5% Ha! What do they take us for ?
Good show Rab. I like the ฤSA and the Lingus immediately after it.
