At the risk of getting a proper cyber kicking……

I see the antics of Clarkson & co a just antidote for all the politically correct clap trap that is being “rammed down my throat” (thanks for that Stuart, you owe me a new keyboard:D ) anyone who works for the MOD will no doubt suffer the same death by power point & CD Rom extravaganza as I do, on how we must all be nice to each other, this charade is just to protect those suits that are stuffed with b3gger all from getting sued in the unlikely event I call someone by the incorrect title & they go off whimpering to Strasbourg.
Top Gear, although being painfully staged at times, is quite amusing. Sometimes & I do stress sometimes Clarkson is only saying what the vast majority of us are thinking, but I guess we gave up the right to free speech years ago, oh well, at least when you tow the line you aren’t branded an “ist” or “phobe” by some outraged minority.

Anyway, back on track, after watching the James May Airfix programme, my 13 yr old Daughter wants to have a go at putting a kit together, only draw back with this is she’s digging around in my highly valuable collection of early Airfix & Frog kits up in the loft:eek:

Just picked up my second Spitfire.:)

Good to see it at last Baz, stopped by yesterday afternoon with the Child, as she didn’t believe me you’d finaly got it, then reinforced that view because you’d spirited it away somewhere!

I actually still have my original unmade-still-in-the-box Airfix 1/24th Spitfire Mark 1. Wonder if it is worth anything….

lol same here, & yes, they can fetch a fair price on internet based auction sites;)

Also in my loft insulation is an original boxing of the 1/24th Hurricane & Stuka:o

The sad thing was, it contrasted so much with the beautiful 48th scale Lightning (and Griffon Spitfires) that had just been produced from high-quality moulds.

To right Chox, the Lightnings were great kits as were the Griffon Spits, looking forward to the Sea Vixen & maybe even the 24th Mossie.

Enjoyed the programme too http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/images/icons/icon14.gif having followed the same right of passage thanks to Airfix, although I did not enjoy the 1/48 Buccaneer at all, but in Airfix’s defence it was moulded in France (alledgedly;))

He said the explosion was so intense it blew all the windows out at their nearby FAA base (which I’ve forgotten the name of), .

    That would be St Merryn.

Have heard this story before, think it may be mentioned in one of the Action Station books or similar.

Think thats the radiator flap, so would imagine it has an auto & manual setting.

Open more at low speed, but retracted inwards at high speed when more airflow is available?

I find their total lack of communication discourteous and were I a “mod” I would find it even more so.

+1, I’m a mod (of the super variety:D) on another site & find all this totaly bizarre:confused:
If the mods are being kept in the dark as much as they say then I for one would be asking very leading questions of the “Great & Powerful Oz” that they receive their orders from, as they are being put in a most awkward situation, if it was on “our” site I’m sure the mods would be threatening some kind of industrial action by now. There is no way a leading figure on the forum should get the boot without good reason & without actually telling the poor sod why he’s got the finger:confused:
In fact, if you view the banned user list, he doesn’t appear on it, so what have you done Mods, IP ban or re-engineered his password ?

No doubt the Private topic area (which is invisable to us mere Munchkins;)) is buzzing with activity on this very subject 😉
