My Dad was in a crew of 6 on Wellingtons, the second pilot was called Stan Lock on his crew, I think he started out as a Flight Engineer. Oddly enough they went down to a crew of 5 when the Coastal Command Wellingtons versions had the front turret deleted , so their nose gunner (Andy Wade) was posted out to a Marauder squadron.

Forget now which one it was, but either Shackleton WL795 or WL756 had “Guy Gibson was ‘ere” written in a fairly hidden area in the tail.
The other cockpit of WD954 belongs to Spitfireman 😉
To the best of my knowledge they were ‘beachcombed’ as in picked up off the shore.
Advised the finder to carefully look for any numbers or inspection stamps, long shot, but you never know!

Created experimental pickled sprouts with chilli last year, gave them to work colleague for testing, his wife has yet to forgive me.
