Wasn,t the AsH a Soviet development off the BMW 801?
Here we go again…Depends on where they dig..I have personally done a few digs on the Oakey site. The dirt is red clay with bedrock about two feet down. What we have found are the steel or stainless bits of Spitfires that came out of the smelters. These were raked into pits beside the two Bellman Hangar sites that are near the Museum. There was a set of pits up closer to the main fence and public road and the “good” stuff was taken out in the 70,s.The rumours are an aircraft was buried by hand (in red clay with bedrock two feet down) in the vicinity.Be it Spitfire/Seafire/Kittyhawk or Mustang or maybe an aircraft trailer is yet to be proven.
And no have not had the pleasure of meeting the Broken wings crew.Hmmm “some type of secret Spitfire”?Might be a Seafire:) F82 Twin Mustangs?Interesting.
That rings a bell.Wasn,t there a couple threads over that one?
Actually the original set of 3500 came from here…

Hendon is the original source but as they are unarchived a shovel will come in handy,or a looong amount of time trawling through them.
Blast beat me too it Mackerel….
Because it is the other side of the world to go looking ourselves we decided to fill in the missing pieces with 3D designing off the GA drawings for parts.
Cheers..Pics of before are here…Doh!! Yes I forgot link in my initial post..Thanks..

Well I,ve got nothing 🙁
A later Mark might have something similar in regards to the equipment you are after.
Will those poles make it to Legends…?
Preserve if possible if there is enough paint, covering still present.Restore if it is starting to fall apart.
I,m wondering who the lucky ****** is who has the job to polish the Tbolt when it,s finished.
The tin bits are a challenge but I agree,it,s all the machined parts that add the time and money.
As an aside, does anyone know what happened to the chap building this cockpit?
Suttleworth Collection kidnapped him and chained hin onto a milling machine in their machine shop 🙂
Didn,t think you could use the plastic seats in flyers anymore unless you moved the side mounting points.
Spitfire seat for a couple hundred pounds!!Bargain 🙂
Too easy!Yeah some of the drawings are hard to I.D. with the wording…Now find me a “Bracket”..LOL
Thanks wonderfully guys..Looks like I don,t have to do a sacrifice of a virgin to the Spitfire gods after all. 🙂
