They did pretty well at Point Cook.JDK will be the man to see.
Two of the guages are temp guages, one says engine trmp…But for what??Maybe to check out the temp guage instruments themselves???
With all the bad blood coming out I am in awe of the wonderful work the volunteers have done on the aircraft.Have been following the project ever since it came online and I think the quality of the work speaks volumes. The skills needed to attempt such an endeavour are which only a select few can do.And I hope they can keep on doing it.
Thanks for the update….
Slightly off – topic I know but I was impressed by the German Panzer IV tanks in the strafing sequence.
There are a few MkIV panzers getting around.Maybe part of the recently late Jaques Littlefield collection.
Radiators don,t look too flat.Bad luck.Hope they can fix her up soon..

Honestly best bet is either a fine jigsaw blade or high speed routing bit.
Far as I know The Hell’N Pelican II is still at Amberly.Saw it in 2007 in the Hangar along with a Canberra,Mirage and Sabre.
Some nice photos there as well.Interesting tidbits in Engineering really get me going.Something we don,t see much of in the colonies…
Sorry to bore you, but my project is made up of non airworthy parts…..85% original wartime manufacture….these parts would have otherwise been thrown away.
Don,t be sorry mate it is guys like you and Stuart that keep us mere mortals appreciate the fact that there is someone out there who is prepared to save the “junk” for future generations..
Awsome
Lost for words mate.Really starting to fill her in.Can,t wait till next year…Some of our work…:D
Hmmm maybe if you can steal a hunter one and copy it in three sections..I can send you over a hacksaw!!
That said, nice work original poster!
Et Tu Tony and don,t worry Stuart, somewhere along the line the path was lost but us engineers know what really matters…. 😀
First you use a thorough investigation as proof that they knew what there were doing at Supermarine and then it seams that this investigation was done after the last Spitfire left the building. I have never met a designer who started to make calculations when the product is already flying around. So if this investigation was made by Supermarine afterwards they must already have know that the elliptical wing was probably a poor choice.
Umm if I may,I think Stuart is in a fairly good position to destinguish the design intracacies of the Spitfire…Seeing he is building one at the moment….
