I think that if one of the other Moderators had shut it down, then fair enough, and I actually think that that is what should have happened in this case.
However this way there will always be some questions raised whether justified or not.

Welcome back Mark12 🙂
Absolutely.
I believe there is film of the murder of Implacable. The stern Gallery and figurehead were removed and now reside in the National Maritime Museum at Greenwich. I keep meaning to head over to Port Adelaide and get on one of the tours of the ship. When I do I will post some photos.
Steve
I seem to recall that the whole crew in unison repeated the meaning!
Steve
Yes ouch indeed! There should be video as that plane almost has more cameras than horsepower. Would be very interesting to see. I wounder what the surface wind was at the time?
Steve
Ok, just read the rest of the FaceBook article and I think the pertinent question is what was the density altitude at the time? On a hot day here in Oz mine has marginal climb performance from an 1800′ AMSL strip so a 5000′ AMSL Desert Strip would be interesting.
I remember seeing photographs of this aircraft years ago but, didn’t know enough about the Gauntlet to realize that it was not an original engine. It’s good to see that it is still being looked after well.
Steve
Although I am on your side of town so to speak Ewan, a quick trip down to Melbourne is still six and a half hours worth in the car! Maybe next year?
Hope it all goes well.
Steve
Well my stock Stearman has a modern MT prop and no one has complained yet. Early days I suppose, and yes I realize it’s not a Hurricane or Spit or a Gauntlet for that matter :).
Steve
The sort of thing the Shuttleworth collection should be buying, and restoring with the correct engine.
Perish the thought that a country other than the UK should have any exotic historic aircraft!
Steve
Snipe. What Snipe???
The term you are looking for Colin is “Day for Night”. It uses lots of filters and low exposure times.
Cheers

Pictures Moggy? Remember if there are no photos it didn’t happen! 😀
Steve
I think you mean HARS Cees?
Steve
I seem to remember reading somewhere that the spinners were red.

Thanks Propstrike, I did find a Thread on here from 2004 that had some details and picks. There seems to be some contention about its use in “The War Lover” though. I have some photos of it taken by my Dad somewhere.
I also found an article from Flight magazine about flying in the film https://www.flightglobal.com/FlightPDFArchive/1963/1963%20-%201742.PDF where Roy Stevens is listed as co pilot!
Cheers,
Steve
