The Commons select committe advises the new helicopters be purchased, rather than simply upgrading old ones.
So which types should the British Army/RAF purchase?
It seems to me that more of existing types, Chinooks, Merlins and Wildcats should do the trick.
Why are there so few Lynx in Afghanistan? Given that they’re the most numerous helo the UK uses there should be more there?
So what would there be to stop Airbus simply offering the KC-330 with revised engines too?
Besides, integrating new engines takes time, money and introduces more risk.
Would it be a problem to place the engine out of alignment with the air intake, around a bend or something?
I’m no engineer, would it cause air-feed problems :confused:
