Its catch 22 for the vet

Repair the animal in question and you risk forcing charges on someone unable or unwilling to pay

Put the animal to sleep and you risk upsetting someone unnecessarily.

Still, I hope aforementioned cat will recover soon. If his jaw is wired up, how will you be feeding him?

My uncle had a cat that lost a back leg. Whilst the cat wasn’t nearly as active afterwards, he still managed to get around the house without any problems, and lived to a good age.

If any govt cancels the CVFs, they will essentially reduce the RN to a costal patrol force, and will be forced to give up even the pretense that we have a proper blue water force.

Still, I can’t see many people caring about this, until one day we call on the forces and they just won’t be there.

The ironic thing is that by disarming conventional forces, it makes it more likely that if there was some major, truly significant threat to national security came up, then it would make us more reliant on the nuclear deterrent.

In defense of police officers themselves, several of whom i am very close to, they themselves see what is going on and would like nothing better than to be able to sort out the filth that lines the streets.

However, they are forced to do anything with one arm tied behind their backs. They are judged for everything they do, by bosses who have been more concerned with climbing the ladder than competence at work. If any complaints are made against them, officers are treated worse than criminals, with disciplinary action requiring no proof, only a likelihood that the accusation is true.

On top of this, the crown prosecution service is utterly useless, so much so that solicitors advise many of their clients to say no comment in interviews, since there is a fair chance the CPS will lose the file anyway.

Even if cases get to court, then pathetic sentences are handed out, only which half of which will ever be served anyway, in prisons where the inmates are treated rather too well. I have heard of one prison where guards were ordered by the governor to go out and buy a chocolate bar and bottle of cola for each of the inmates to avert a riot, as there are nowhere near enough guards to maintain order.

The situation we face is PC “do-gooders” running everything, with little or no idea of the real world, who hire legions of unneeded middle management that adds layers of bureaucracy the soviet union would be proud of.

    What is to be done?

And what good would an election do us, my friend?

Labour and Conservative parties are now virtual clones on most if not all important issues, David Cameroon is Blair v2.0

Specifically on defence, i cannot believe that the tories, who presided over the crippling cuts in the early 80s and 90s are worthy to lick the boots of the men and women of the forces. Labour is no better, and the Lib dems, imho, are very naive in these matters.

Short of WW3, we will see more of these same policies in future. 🙁

It can be used for anything from disaster relief to special forces missions.

Yes, use the Mi-26 to insert/retrieve special ops personelle, subtle. Do you want to fit flashing neon signs on it as well just in case anyone misses you? 😀

Yes, I noticed that……….personally I would prefer more AMRAAM’s as most Air Combat happens @ BVR!

I think you’ll find that this may be true in simulations and exercises, but there has not been a full scale air war between two matched sides for a very long time. Who knows what would happen?

Unless somebody has signed a check, then i won’t believe this thing will make it off the drawing board.

By the way, are you certain about the Saunders-Roe P.70, i googled it and nothing came up, can you provide a link? 🙂

I’m inclined to agree with the last point, Apollo 1 suffered the fire.

Still, that is beside the point. With new commercial alternatives to government exploration of space, i think this can only be a good thing. With real incentives to space technology development, and the means to do so, huge advancements are possible.

Here’s to the next 50 years, may we learn more about the universe, united and not divided.

Thanks for that Sentinel Chicken I take it this was to go against the Typhoon?

    James

Not sure what you mean there, are you asking if Typhoon and J-10 are competitors in the export market?

If so, I don’t think the J-10 has yet been offered for export, but apparently the Pakistan AF might be interested.

This just goes to show that there is a place for both aircraft in the market, focusing on different roles. Its good news for everyone

I’m guessing these aircraft are total new builds, rather than updates built on existing F-5 airframes.
