Had no idea how big they were until this one visited! 🙂
All aircraft look big until you’ve been around them for a bit. 😀
Filthy, but why is it on the Nigerian Register?
There are two ways to reduce emissions, A) produce more efficient designs, or B) reduce the number of people flying, and consequently flights flown.
Creating a fake carbon trading market will do neither.
Lots of interesting stuff, wish we had the same weather!
Very nice, I think I like the bmi Regional the most.
[Anorak-Mode] – I don’t think G-OOAR is a -212, it has newer-style cowlings. 😮
Note absence of any Global 7000.
I didn’t notice that, but it seems their customers would like to travel further at the expense of less space. I don’t think they normally fill the cabin up with passengers – 4-5 at a time?
My favourite of the business jets, I love the first piccy.
Doors4 – Checkout the video in this thread, and watch closely as the aircraft lands.
Still, very orange. A nice change from the usual easyJet.
It is not just the improvements to the Boeing 777 that killed the A340, but the improvements that Airbus have made to the A330-300 was squeezing it from below.
It is actually pretty clever.
I think it was Bmused55 who explained it to me. If you think about standing on a beach on holiday looking out to the horizon. The belly is white to represent the sand of the beach, the upper fuselage a dark blue to represent the water and the lighter blue of the tail is to represent the sky.
I think with the navy blue they are adding now is to represent deeper water.
I could have made all that up.
I wonder how much this has to do with Chinese airlines threatening Airbus’s order book.
It’s a stupid tax, especially on an industry that has real motivation to burn as little fuel as possible.
I think you have answered yourself. The cargo division of Cathay Pacific is obviously important to them, and thus they have a need for cargo capacity on passenger flights.
I am not entirely sure Hainan Airlines has a business case for the A380 either, but the cargo market doesn’t make up the proportion of the business that it does for Cathay Pacific.
Nothing like a bit of forum trolling on a Monday afternoon. 😀
