Cracking shots. The A320 looks superb with winglets, but the 737NG suits them more.
Turkish seem to send any NB to Edinburgh. You’ll soon have Little Red to brighten up the skies around Edinburgh. Thanks for posting Silver Snapper.
The aircraft is ex. Meridiana Fly. I could only guess the aircraft was/is owned by a Singaporean company.
Incidentally, Meridiana Fly has gotten it’s first 737-800, or rather transferred from the merger with Air Italy.
Did they not just cancel an order for second-hand A320s? I’m sure I read that they even had the registrations ready, but at the last minute dropped the deal. Would this suggest that all isn’t well with PIA fleet planning?
Well, they’ve got 11 weeks to manage it.
A promising start…
Have Buffalo found work for the Electras? Or is this for a spares source? The last time I watched Ice Pilots, the Electra was always parked outside.
JAL wants to have aircraft from multiple manufacturers. It is good for business not to rely on one manufacturer.
I doubt it is anything to do with the 787, as it is said to replace early 777’s and not A300/B767-sized aircraft.
It’s still on the same TCDS, doesn’t make it too different in my mind. Still an impressive number to have delivered.
Turkish Airlines are expanding their single-aisle fleet, and are adding routes all across Europe.
Well, new routes bringing a hundred million billion Romanians and Bulgarians to Britain, of course.
Expansion east, Turkey?
Bad news for future second-hand aircraft prices. Not only Lion Air, but other airlines will be returning aircraft off-lease.
Good news if you are an airline like Delta Air Lines or Allegiant.
I agree. The CS300 makes much better sense if you don’t need the range/payload of the 737-7MAX/A319NEO. As the numbers above show, there is a market for the 130-150 seater. Ultimately, some will be replaced by the new Airbus/Boeing models. But, for the most part, it is for Bombardier to win.
Are Embraer any closer to launching a 190 stretch?
The 777F (and A330-200F) is just a much better aircraft.
Still, sad to see the last of the tri-jets heading west.
It boggles my mind how they can get the financing. If it all fails miserably, that is a huge glut of second-hand aircraft destroying resale values and hurting future Airbus/Boeing orders. Huge risk. Just look at Kingfisher to see how it can all go so wrong.
