nJayM, the autopilot/autothrottle did drop out and thus manual control from the pilots. It is one thing moaning about a cd-player not opening quick enough, quite another to having a go at flight protection computers and the AF447 crash.

I’ve got another gripe. People who think I am vaguely interested in having a conversation with them about celebrity X (Amy Winehouse, Katie Price, Peter Andre, Kerry Katona, et al). I am simply not interested, and I will tell you that! 😡

Not to forget the people who walk about like headless chickens in supermarkets. Those who stop and talk to a friend, blocking the whole aisle. Those that cough over the vegetables. The people that put things back, on a completely unrelated shelf.

If you want a laugh, spend five minutes in a supermarket car park. It is mind boggling.

@Interflug62M – The Monarch livery was fine until someone did something nasty to the logo, completely at odds with the curves of the livery and font used. The first time I seen it, I did a doubletake. I thought it was a mistake.

I think you have hit the nail on the head there Ralph; it is more a symptom of modern new reporting than a peculiarity of the B787 programme. You can almost get real time reporting of events, regardless of how trivial they actually are.

Surely, with the collective talent of all those on this forum, we could knock-out one controversial thread. You know, just to keep the spirit of Jim here…whilst, er, he isn’t here. :diablo:
