    You could say that the 747-400 is too much aircraft for the frequency-driven US market, but they seem to have their place. The main stumbling block for the A380 I think is that there are only certain routes that US airlines could use the capacity, but that only means a small fleet which may now be economical.

    Europe has an interesting problem with the A380 and Emirates Airline. On one had they need to sell the A380, on the other hand they don’t want Emirates poaching traffic from their own airlines.

    I think it will be more telling once the 747-400s and 777-200s come up for retirement. I genuinely think the A350/A380 have a chance. It remains to be seen if they order more 777-300ERs or are waiting for a 777NG – like most airlines, I guess.

    Emirates Airline already have 90 orders, it boggles the mind what they are going to use them for, never mind adding more.

    I genuinely think the A380 needs a North American order; either United Air Lines or Delta Air Lines. Both are very unlikely.

    I always thought the A319 fleet was larger than the A320 fleet. Who wishes the 737-200s were back? 😎

    Aah, OLD ha ha.

    The airlines must have been pushing Airbus/Boeing for the newer engines. I believe Airbus initially didn’t want to do it. It is interesting that they still over the A320OEO 😉 alongside the A320NEO. Personally, I think the A321 was the driver as a true transcontinental replacement for the B757-200. Thomas Cook followed with an order for the A321NEO, so perhaps we might see Monarch place an order, though they seem to like their A321s at the moment.

    Brilliant to hear about a DC-3 still earning it’s keep. Even Buffalo Airways keep flying them.

    PC was designed to show respect for other’s background and cultures. I’m still struggling to see what is actually wrong with that. It is rather more involved than name-calling as well.

    Who is arguing otherwise?

    What people are arguing about is the extent to which it is being applied, how it is affecting daily lives. People are moaning about H&S for the same reasons.
