I’d vote for Avros Finest as long as we get Digby as the deputy PM

Managed to get the contra Spit Video now

Its awsome video and amazing the effect the contra blades have, the wind whistling through them sounds just like bagpipes!

Firstly I am not a pilot, but I would agree with everything Avros finest and Digby have said, It looks to my that the only thing that saved him from a smoking hole was his height. Had the Firefly had the same height ‘advantage’ at Legends would we be saying that it was a ‘Dirty Roll’ and its not a pitts special so don’t fly it like one.
BTW great footage, but couldn’t open the spit video?

not meaning to name drop but while I was at Chailey last year, I spoke to Ray and he said that it was him in the flyby clip.
I think that its probably my favourite aerial sequence in any film especially the low head on shot flying over the washing line
Does anyone know if there is any plans to bring the movie out on DVD?

Thanks Mark12 for posting the Jumbo formation
It was quite an awsome site and as I remember one of the ‘little friends’ flew very erratically to try and cool the engine in order to keep up with the 747 with all its gear, flaps down

Does anyone have any good photos of the Northwest orient 747/ Dak and warbird flypast
At the time I only had a cheapo camera, so they where only dots in the sky!

As for the opera, im quite glad it got the money. It may be out of my direct sphere of interest but they’ve done a lot to introduce opera to the masses since the renovation. Im not going to join the masses who get upset because it hasn’t been spent on something im interested in.

I don’t remember mentioning the opera????

And I was just making a comparison with

Tracy Emins poxy tent or old soiled bed clothes.

I know they where part of the saatchi collection, and heres a thought is a burning warehouse considered as ART??? :dev2:
My point was that The Vulcan project or the opera or the funding of the restoration or preservation of a building or monument (Shame about Brightons West Peir where has that money gone???) are tangible and worthy courses where as some ‘arty’ type Lovey’s concept of art is not.
