Was he also responsible for the poor sales abroad of the EE Lightning? Germany in particular where he told them the F4 Phantom was a better option
I fully agree with you JC the lottery money is better spent in my opinion in preserving this countries aviation heritage than on Tracy Emins poxy tent or old soiled bed clothes.
And forgive me for dragging up another pet hate but I would rather give the lottery monies to a dream of the Vulcan flying than to fund hanging aircraft off museum ceilings like some boys airfix collection
(Off soap box now)
BTW haven’t you seen Snappers thread? we have our own pub to moan in 😀
Hi Sparky
What do you mean by infrastructure?? isn’t Marshalls, BAe Systems, 120plus top aviation suppliers enough, plus a v.large hanger? Apart from one or two at cost or nil-cost
Is all this support going to be in place for the long term?

Please do not miss understand my take on this subject as I have said before I would like to see a Vulcan fly again and think that any attempt is lordable
However I have my reservations probably due to lack of information available and also due to me being a member of the now defunct Vulcan Assoc. in the past
I admit I am no financial expert but I am aware of the costs involved in keeping a warbird such as Sally B flying.and I would imaging the cost are considerably high with a post war bomber
Also is there the infrastructure to support the aircraft and at what cost
Also how can you compare the Grace spitfire cost of upkeep to a Vulcan
:diablo: As Eddie Izzard says on the advert ” Recycle the possibilities are endless”
I have just read this thread and I don’t believe there is any possibility of getting a Vulcan back into the air SAFELY.
As much as I would like to see one fly again I think people should face the reality
Happy Birthday Stewart
I know its late but now Annas got to that funny age she wont notice! 😀 😀 😉 :dev2: :diablo:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
We’re going to have to wait till the April issue to get the full story 🙁
This is USAF have Demo Team and Heritage Flight
Pie n’ Mash and spotted d1ck for afters 😉
Its not a fear and sorry for going slightly of topic but I cannot stand the touch of cotton wool it like running your fingers down a blackboard to me nasty stuff
601 Squadron had a JU87 painted with roundels wide yellow stripes and the flying sword.
78th FG I think had a two seater P-51B painted red/orange with the black & white Checkered nose
Maybe you could ask the passenger 😉 🙂 :dev2:
Thats not how you spell *******
