Some years back I think around 1985-6, I was at the West Malling Warbirds Show and got talking to a veteran who had been in North Africa, he told me that he had seen P-40s buried unused as they came off the transports due to the allies quick advance they apparently weren’t needed.
I don’t know if this is true or one of those ‘friend of a friend’ stories so to speak.
But there again look at ‘Glacier Girl’.
I’ll have to have a think about which pub there are quite a few nice country alehouses around that way,
BTW Rob I will be there on the Saturday, as I have to go to Cardiff on the Sunday 🙁
I only caught a glimpse as I drove by nice artwork BTW
Nice and local to me so I’ll be there, I saw the ad in the shop in Ditchling village
Thanks for the pics it looks a lot different with the solid nose
TFCs Mitchell which I believe is due to go back to the US has similar paint scheme
Having looked at the link for Gatwick museum what time does the Aerojumble start and finish tomorrow and Sunday?

Snapper I will have to come and say hello to Mr Stewart after you kindly introduced me last year great bloke 🙂
I wonder how Bob the bowser driver feels about having his picture on the web!
Hope you don't mind, but I've just set that photo as my desktop. Absolutely stunning!
