Indeed so JT!:D
Great picture Mk12, not sure it was the same Hunter, but the one in the link, XG194, was painted up in Soviet colours for decoy use and spent its later days at North Luffenham. There has also been at least one Lightning painted up as a Soviet Air Force aircraft.
As far as I’m aware they were ground use only.
Survive, yes this is the Hunter that went to the small museum at Wattisham.
That’s the one Strangey, pitched up with a Constellation, bit of a surprise I seem to remember?

I will never forget the sound, man that Fiesta was noisy!:D
That was the last time I visited Dux, 14 years ago?
I can never understand how a cherished and restored aircraft, that obviously costs hundreds of thousands of pounds and man hours to operate, suddenly ends up looking unkempt and unloved?
The example with the blue cheatline would look lovely at Duxford, especially with the AAM, or even alongside the Hastings in a Berlin Airlift theme.
Is the one with the red stripe the really nice example that was airworthy in the late ’90s as part of a Berlin Airlift flight?
If so I find it amazing that the a/c can end up parked and weathered in the UK so soon afterwards.
The World at War ; Cant put it into words But the summary at the end of the series says it all.
Yep, and the poignancy of that theme music is surely without peer.
At the other end of the spectrum The Dukes of Hazzard and The Sweeney themes also take me back, even if I only remember the re-runs of the latter.

Which is reportedly being swapped with another exhibit at Manchester Science Museum.
Oh, please let it be the four engined heavy!
The theme tune to BBCs ‘Holiday’ always got me going, not because of the tune but because of its siren call to the TV and the promise to a young lad of glimpses of half undressed females on a Spanish beach!
As a piece of music I loved the one to ‘The Life And Times of David Lloyd George’.

Sorry to read that Daz, must be a difficult time.

Gents, time to stand away from the thread and leave it.
I entirely agree with Merlin, these threads are getting very tiresome, someone posts a story or their opinion, and then others jump down their throat for doing so.
With regards this story I’m open minded and can see both sides of it, but is there really any need for this endless ripping each other apart over it? It has gone beyond posting opinions.
It is so predictable, the same four or five members repeat posting, the General discussion area is becoming a very reclusive place with the same names roaming it, and putting off others from opening a friendly discussion.
Arthur, take time to read what you have written – it comes across as cyber bullying.

Arthur, a quick glance at this thread reveals just how vehemently argumentative and contrary you can be, every second post is a snipe or overly robust response form you.
If you don’t agree with Lincon7s point then fine, but you’ve made that clear from the beginning of the thread, is it really worth the time and effort that you are clearly putting into this to rubbish something that Lincoln feels strongly about (rightly or wrongly)?
