Hasn’t this latest Polish thing come about because of that well known picture that was shown all around the world? You know the one, where the disgusting UK yobs looted, while a Polish woman jumped out of a window to save her life amongst a blazing backdrop – I would say that some Polish people have good reason to think what they do about some English people.

I think the 300 used Mercedes parts, but I’d be surprised if it used the complete E Class platform.

You’re right, I thought it was the whole platform but it was just major componants shared.
I agree about the Merc comments, shame thay went through that loss of quality of engineering period, I’ve had a few 190s, & 124s which were superb second-hand vehicles.

surely Mercedes were a good thing for Chrysler, one recent ok American car I can think of is the 300 which used the Merc E class chassis and suspension.

I can’t understand how these once great American giants bother with badge engineering Lancia, Fiat, and Daewoo

James, now c’mon, I would give my eye teeth for Steve Mcqueens Mustang, the sound of that V8 coupled with the tramping of the rear wheels when he let rip, things just couldn’t get any better than that.

It is interesting that the main problem with USAF FICON and Tom Tom experiments in the late 1940s early ’50s, using B-29s and the XF-85 Goblin (intended for the B-36), and B-36s carrying F-84/RF-84s and parasite fighters, that release was straight forward enough but hook-up again was very difficult and extremely dangerous and seems to be the main reason for the projects being scuppered.

They now have the new Chrysler Delta in the showroom & I have been invited for a look-see & a test drive .

It shares something with most post early 1980s American cars, as in looks absolutely hideous!

I never get why American cars were beautiful, brutal even, and often really looked the part until the late ’70s:confused:
