It was, but seems to have become N2735A with Capital Airlines and crashed in late 1959, http://aviation-safety.net/database/record.php?id=19590512-0

I must echo Peter’s comments above, great pics and I certainly was unaware of the M-21 & D-21 drone combination!
The Taylor Aerocar actually looks quite practical and quite good looking in its own little way!
    Thanks for sharing

Thanks Simon, knew they were here somewhere!
Here’s that link you posted, http://members.multimania.co.uk/rafstathan/
    Some great shots on there.

Hi Tony, I haven’t seen pics of WT648 at Saints, however you have reminded me that the P1 on the Provost picture that QP has posted could stand for ‘Painters 1’ from the refinishing section.

Any blame that exists will rest with the A380 crew, the CRJ crew, local ATC, or any combination thereof.

Just going from the video it looks to me like an airport fault, they must have to co-ordinate aircraft ground movements to enure each aircraft is an area clear of another one moving, even if the one moving has a greater span than usual.

The staggering thing is how the A380 moved the whole CRJ like it was a toy rather that ripping a chunk out of its tail or losing its own wingtip, I wouldn’t have liked being onboard that 700 at all!

That must have come as one hell of a shock to the passengers and crew on the CRJ700!

Excellent pictures again DCW, fantastic looking aircraft, and a shame that no whole ones survive.

Interesting comparison LS, surprising how many vital statistics are similar between the two types aswel, apart from the power.
I guess the Marathon could achieve almost the same performances as the Flamingo with less power?
I suppose the other thing that might have helped kill it off was the DH Heron, which shifted not far off the same amount of passengers, but with less power and lower weights etc.

After posting those pics I did some in-depth research (Googled Sunderland Praa Sands 🙂 and there’s a page on the beaching)

    Excellent find!

Are you sure about ‘EB being unique with the underfloor baggage stowage, I thought that ‘NL, NM, & DA all had it?
In the same way as ‘SH was my grandad’s favourite rapide, EB was his favourite S-61, they appear together in a British Airways corporate film!
The current situation with the possible loss of the heliport at Eastern Green, located at the end of the Paddington / Penzance main line, is an apalling one. To think that this service was revolutionary when it was started up and is amongst the highest in passenger numbers, and longest serving, facilities of its kind.
I can’t help thinking it is all part of a greater move to get rid of the Scillies helicopter service for good, replacing those magnificant, and remarkably well worked S-61Ns can’t be cheap.

Firebex, it can’t be quite as simple a rule as you are stating, well if it is I look forward to a summers motoring with less than half the amount of caravans on the road than we normally encounter!:)
I’ve read quite a bit about towing recently, both from a private and work point of view, I would say MP is about right.

I have yet to find ANYONE who openly admits voting for this shower.

Will the F3 also turn out to be the RAFs last PURE interceptor?

The Tornado has been replaced by the Typhoon in the fighter and interceptor roles and is generally accepted that the RAF have a great fighter capability back since the loss of the Lightning in 1988.
The Tonka F.3 was fine as a long-range interceptor for knocking out Russian bombers, but not as a fighter in a period when the RAF lagged behind most other F-16 equiped European nations.
It has suitably been replaced so there is no politics behind its withdrawal from service, it had just reached its time with the RAF.

I for one voted for for the present government, but embarrassed that the Libs got attached to them!

Excellent pictures sully, and for all its downfalls the sight and sound of the brute will be missed.
