One incident mentioned in English Electric Canberra (Ken Delve) is “WD985 On charge to 12 sqn 7.4.52, fuel switched off in error and belly landed near Sealand 8.4.52 whilst on delivery by 4 Ferry Pool crew!”
I wonder if that is the incident pictured, the early black & light grey scheme would seem to fit.

Great news to hear that these two are flying, of course one could be mischievous and mention the perfect timing for them to migrate south to St Mawgan.

Funny, one can be quite cynical about the Vulcan operation, but when you actually see it in the metal it does leave you in awe of the sheer presence of the great Avro bomber.

Just gone through St Athan, did two passes, one down the runway and one along the disused – superb!
I can’t believe how many people have turned up surrounding the perimeter fence.

Superb ‘villian’ actor, especially in The Ladykillers. Always my favourite character in the Pink Panther films.
His film career actually spanned an incredble 51 years.

Not sure if I’m getting overly sensitive in my older age or what, but I found the news footage of the burning and exploding wreckage almost as it happened, a bit distasteful. The handling of the burnt hulk and turning over of the remains of the airframe just after 19 souls were killed seemed odd as well.
RIP to all on board.

That’s kind of what I’m getting at, easy ideas but with difficult (possible unsurmountable) answers.
I would have thought there was room at Duxford, and two large buildings have been put up before now.
