    Thats the one, just could not remember the number(not surprising if you see some of my other faux pas in other postings, i think the fairies have removed my ‘aviation’ chip during a heavy sleep).
    I assume that it is still potentially airworthy, i think it would have been 1992 when i saw it fly.

    Ah Ha, i have just realised both of my silly mistakes in picture ID.
    I did not have the Fury picture full screen, so i could only see the Fury as far as the tailwheel, at which point the tail and wing of the Avenger looked at a glance like the Tigercat.I them mistakenly , again in haste, indentified the Wildcat as an Avenger, hence the remark about a Frech visitor(which indeed there has been in recent years to Duxford and not in USN Blue).
    Time for bed me thinks !!

    When did she last fly ?
    Also (i think) there is a very interesting Beoing 2**? at Wroughton, i recall it flying before one of the Great Warbird displays there, do you know anything about it.

    Umm, Tigercat and Avenger with wings folded, but not ‘George Bush’, this is a French visitor? or did it used to be Duxford based. Its the age you know !!! , grey matter getting muddled.

    Good pic Stringbag, i would have been there at that show, must have missed the Fury out on the line. Incidentally, can you recall whether that is Tony Haig Thomas’s Avenger or the former ‘George Bush’ in the background. Is suspect the former as it lives there.

    Firstly, Ashley , yes that is one of my pictures.
    But more importantly, I am feeling slightly guilty having posted comments about blame and conspiracy. But as i stated in a later posting these were not my words, i was merely trying to put over some of the comments which were being made after the event. I am not saying i agree with them, merely that theories were being banded around.
    We all know that mistakes were made and that has been admitted and i have no doubts about AVM John Allisons ability as a pilot.
    I suppose if you put yourself on the fence then you are there to be shot at, so please don,t blame me guys i was just trying to be the messenger.
