RE: PL865 the one legged Spitfire !!
Ant, Well spotted, just a little typo.
RE: More Spitfires- an MV293 medley
Ant,
The top two were taken at Duxford on the same day, and the lower one is North Weald on a miserable day, the poplar trees give it away.Unfortunately i did not date these slides but i would imagine mid 90’s.
RE: Vulcan XH558
Apparently she will not fly this year as the engineering work is more complex than originally thought, wiring seems to be the problem and yes i’m sure funds are still very much needed.
RE: B29 Non – military in UK
Thanks, a certain degree of smugness tomorrow i think.
RE: Gloster Gladiator N5719 / G-CBHO
Thats very good news, but i would imagine its a long haul?
RE: Slooow day at the office
Odd I agree, but its interesting that you should find aircraft development amusing ?
RE: Making a welcome return in 2002
Part of me thinks that Chivenor, although its years since i was there.
Its certainly none of the other places that have been suggested. Looks as if the flight line is between the cars and the buildings.
RE: AD Grounds all B-17’s
David,
I’m with you all of the way.
Safety first, no compromises.

RE: Another for the Shuttleworth fans
Well spotted Ant i did type it back to front, no idea why , it was quite late though.
Not absolutely sure about the number built, i had a feeling that there was another albeit static somewhere, i know the Shuttleworth example was built in 1932, must research that.

RE: Pic Of The Day-28/01/02!!
This is the very last flying shot of XH558, Bruntingthorpe just before she touched down.

RE: One for Lancman
Ladies, Ladies – cut it out.
You should know that some of us have been discussing (outside of this forum) members that disrupt the forum and what possible actions could be taken.Oviously the most drastic one would be for us , collectively,to seek a ban through the webmaster, temporary or otherwise.
Other options are for members to just vote with their fingers and go elswhere, which of course spoils the forum for the remainder.
In the main I enjoy this forum, there are some very knowlegeable people here who are always willing to help the less well informed, there can be a degree of good banter, always good debate and some very good pictures posted(sorry not trumpet blowing, I meant others).BUT unfortunately guys like you are spoiling it with this rather childish tit-for-tat nonsense, take it elswhere whilst you still have a choice!!.
Phil.
RE: Swedish Invader
I know its Sugarland Express of the SHF, and i’m sure that part of the reason she was based at North Weald in recent times was to attract a buyer. In fact i think it was a member of Flypast staff who told me that at the Photoday/fly-in.I knew the Dutch example was going stateside and i think thats why they were both at legends last year as there may shortly have no longer been an example in Europe.

RE: Another for Keithmac
Keithmac – I very rarely use anything bigger than 300mm at Old Warden, so is suspect that was what i took this with.
Ant – I’ve not heard that rumour, lets hope its no more than that, but have a friend who is quite close to the Shuttleworth organisation so i’ll ask.It was not mentioned in the last copy of ‘Propswing’, mind you nor was the potential sale of the Arrow Active.Talking of which……………

RE: One for Stringbag
Looks like a photoshop pan extension has taken place here, making placing it quite difficult.
