    @Arthur Pewtey
I notice you keep avoiding the question “should the British people get a vote?”. Yes, we can all repeat ourselves.

I checked back through the thread and I can’t find anyone actually asking the question.
In answer to your newly posed question, I do not think it should be subject to a referendum. I think the issues at stake are too complex to be condensed into a straightforward referendum question. We rely on our elected officials to make the right choices for us as it is their job to scrutinize complex laws. Why is this different?

Still haven’t seen any evidence of rules that would affect our competitiveness. I guess there aren’t any.

The UK could also get rid of much of the European regulation if it left the EU, increasing competitiveness, and therefore increasing jobs. Personally I think the decision should be made by the people as it’s their jobs and their lives 🙂

I’ll repeat, the removal of which rules would increase competitiveness?

As jbritchford says, where are these rules?

Removal of which laws would increase competitiveness do you think?

    What he said above.:)

So much of our trade is done with the EU that leaving it would a disaster for the UK. It would almost certainly cost me and many others our jobs – all for the sake of dogma.
Looking on the bright side, it may cause the collapse of the coalition and an early election. 🙂

Only time will tell if has done the right thing. He has been told repeatedly that what happens in the Eurozone affects us too. The collapse of the Euro would be disastrous for Europe and for the UK too.
What he has effectively done has placed the UK outside any decisions that may affect us. I don’t understand the detail in what the treaty said but I hope whatever Cameron has done, he has done for the right reasons. My suspicion is that he caved in to pressure from within his own party and his chums in the City. I hope I’m wrong.

If you have evidence that those that were executed and are “honoured” at Brookwood Military Cemetery are not guilty then you should provide it. If there is no evidence that the convictions are in any way unsafe then I would suggest that your argument is spurious.

We’re not talking about the Rillington Place case though are we. That was widely reported as a miscarriage of justice. The cases Tangmere 1940 has highlighted are, by all accounts, nothing of the sort. The men were tried convicted and hanged and unfortunately their names were placed along side those that genuinely gave their lives in the service of their country. It is an error that needs correcting.

    Beat me to it!

I find the Fenton clip funny as well but I have no idea why.

A few names I missed; Dara O’Briain, John Bishop and Lee Evans (in small doses)

Blackadder series 2,3 and 4 are still funny after repeated viewings. Outnumbered and Not Going Out are favourites of recent sitcoms.

Game On from the 1990s was pretty funny as well.
