That may be so, in fact I think I mentioned it myself a few posts back that modern cars can stop quicker. My point was however that the thinking distance will be the same if not possibly longer than it was in the 1960s. Driving a 1960’s car traveling at 70mph is very different from driving a one of today’s quiet smooth cars.
The other far more important point, and again these have been mentioned before, is that the motorways are many, many times busier than they were in the 1960s. On the M6 during the week you’d be lucky to travel at 50mph far less 80mph.

The Adventures of Tintin – The Secret of the Unicorn

Took my 8 year old to see this today. Fantastic action-packed adventure film. The CGI is simply stunning.
Do yourself a favour and go and see this. You won’t be disappointed.

I’m afraid that publications such as the Daily Mail pander to some of the baser elements in society. Most of the content is just a joke but in this case (and in others) it gets away with being crass and insensitive.

I have my concerns as well but the statement

Woodford’s historic links with the aviation industry will be maintained with the retention of the runway and the development of a new heritage centre on the site of the original Avro hanger.

    must be good news.

Cidade de Deus (City of God)

The story of gangsters in 1960s/70s Brazil.
I wish all movies could be as good as this. Superb.

With all due respect, Id disagree with this. Until 1965 all of the then uk motorways were unlimited.

IIRC it came with a race team testing its car on the open road at upwards of 160mph that bought the speed limit into effect 😉

I thought it came in as a temporary measure after some bad accidents in fog.

Does the box look like this?

    or this.

If it does, it’s the Hasegawa kit.

Smaller details like doors and suchlike should be fine. Larger items like entire cockpits may need a bit of “fettling” to fit properly.
I’ve recently built the Hasegawa MkV version and it’s a fairly easy build. I have the Revell MkI/II version to do (among many others)

There now follows a gratuitous Spitfire model picture. 🙂

If it is the newer Revell Spitfire I/II then it is basically the same kit as the Hasegawa MkV. After-market resin for the Hasegawa kit will fit the Revell. If your kit is the older Revell MkI then I’m afraid there is not much to add.

    Skyline

Old fashioned monster/alien movie. Great effects but rather depressing storyline. Good entertainment for a 90mins

    Stalag 17

Great film – funny, witty and poignant – more gritty than the Great Escape.

Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension

Great stuff. Made for kids and adults.
