Mate, you should see same day one demo, its awesome. 🙂
Small but well equiped Navy. If someone had a opportunity to see a demo of this chopper, in some manouvres it behaves like a fighter.
Regards,
“in fact the Erieye System was evaluated in Chile together with the JAS 39 Gripen (My favorite ) but at the end Fachs is still considering more Phalcon or Israeli made Phalcon derivates, but one thing is clear, FACH need minimun one more AEW.”
Maybe part of the weapons deal for the new F-16s includes another Big Phalcom AEW.
Regards,
If you are talking about the F-16s embargoed but already paid….impossible the 28 jets were incorporated into US Navy new aggressor squadron and USAF test squadrons.
Regards,
“Well it only makes sence doesn’t it? There can be no peace in the world as long as there are military weapons and we need military weapons to defend ourselves, what with human nature being what it is, we always want more and will kill to get it.
Ok that’s enough of the psycology lesson for today, tune in tomorrow when we learn why a nuclear threat is a joke.”
Too psycological 😮 for this part of the day (lunch time in Brazil)
“A) Well, let’s say 2007-8?”
Initial deliveries, could be…….
“Our Army and Navy have received new and high tech equipment but Fiza’Ya has been neglected, Pakistans economy has improved dramatically and the present government realise there is a need to re-equip the PAF with a fighter at least comparable to the SU-30”
Is there plans to increase the fleet of F-16s or acquire fighters from France, Mirage 2000 or Rafale?
Regards,
Mate, good point, i never realized that
France always wanted to sell Mirages 2000 to Pakistan, right?
Wolf, why not move to an erieye equiped one. Is definitely less expensive so you can have more, and, for a country of the size of Chile, i think two or three is more than enough, don´t you think? You mentioned replacing the fighter fleet. Is there plans to replace the Mirage fleet? (Panteras and Elkans). As far as I know the F-16s will replace the A-37s.
By the way the new FAB F-X is more political then technical. I personally prefer the Flanker, definitely, but, i´m start thinking that buy a used, and lot cheaper, fighter is a better idea. In this case i vote for the F-16AM/BM that the Dutch AF are retiring from service. Will be 29 examples available for sale (they are downsizing their fighter squadrons).
Regards,
Camaro, there are five AEW aircrafts using erieye systems, named R-99A. Currently, there are no more orders for this type. maybe in the future, if funds permitt. Right now, FAB officials are studying to install air to air refuelling probes on the entire fleet of R99A/B
The new fighter was not yet defined thanks to the politicians. The lobby for Embraer is quite strong and the decision will be postponed, i´ll bet you on that.
Wolf, in fact the focus is on the Amazon region, but, R-99A operates throughout the country.
The Fach AEW Phalcon are operational? I read that is too expensive to operate and it was grounded. Is it correct?
Regards,
Camaro, looks like FAP will bring Mirages 2000 for Cruzex 2004, but, i still hope to see Fulcrums down here. 🙂
Operational SU-35 not yet, but the other two contenders (Gripen and Mirage 2000) are very capable with BVR and stuff. Also we have a fleet of AEW aircraft. Backing up the new FAB fighter is the upgraded F-5 BVR capable.
Regards,
Condor,
No problem, i didn´t take you as rude. Healthy discussions are always welcome.
Regards,
Condor,
“Not only that…”
I know that the F-16s will replace A-37 (i don´t remember which Grupo) but if Chile has the intention to buy extra F-16s (US$ 60,000K a piece). Are enough funds to operate them. Why Chile invest so much upgrading their fleet of Mirages (Panteras and Elkans) as well as F-5s?
“…… but also to persuade. That’s the case of Chile.
And the results are very good.”
?????????????????????
