For what its worth I quite like it “unrestored”. Certainly has character.

Admirable idea – but don’t forget there’d be a mountain of health and safety red tape/parental permission nonsense to wade through. 🙁

I know if I was ten I’d love nothing more than to sit in a Spit. Come to think of it, at 26 its still something I’d love to do!

Will this be a “bought” model, or will one of the fine modelsmiths on here make one for him?

What an erudite young chap he is. Sadly I don’t think the local politicians will agree to his request – can’t be seen to be celebrating anything to do with war or patriotism. Might offend any unemployed lesbian one-armed muslim single mother asylum seekers.

Great to see the same enthusiasm for vintage aircraft I had when I was that age is still being passed on!

A good set of pictures. The ninth one down is especially good. 😉

    Diecast Lanc and B-17E
DVDs “Warplanes of WWII” and “The RAF at War”
Books “The Encyclopaedia of Modern Jets” and “100 Years of Flight”
A wooden children’s mobile with biplanes on it (think the missus might be trying to tell me something)

All in all, not a bad haul…

Nowt on Anglia – I guess they just can’t get the staff

Indeed. Hence why I’ve only got two sodding days off over Xmas…

Bad news re: the Anglia coverage. Just looked at the running orders for the two programmes, East (Norwich/Ipswich/Colchester edition) and West (Cambs/Nhants/Beds). There’ll be a brief bit on the West edition (which is the one you’ll see on Sky), but none on the East programme as it stands.

Suppose its down to other more “important” news stories, 🙁 🙁 🙁

Might have better luck on BBC Look East at 6:30…

It was indeed Pete Kynsey. Just watched Anglia’s raw footage coming in. Looks like a very gusty day, but the aircraft looked immaculate. Well done to all concerned. Anglia region viewers you’re in for a treat tonight!
