Modern MCMVs drawings

Hi again,

since we already went hilariously off topic I thought I´d entertain you with some other mine sweepers /hunters while I try to find some more time for those additional Lerici derivatives.

First up are some brand new imagines. Hope you like them.

Next will be some older drawings of modern MCMVs if you don´t mind.

Hi,

first of all I have changed the radar set on the picture above to represent the planned set of Varyag. This will probably differ from the Chines set but at leat it is something to look at.

Mr McConrads, why would the Varyag sport russian SAMs and associated firecontrol radar it never had in the first place? Makes more sense to put in the VLSs that are on the 054A with Orekh.

True. If you show me a representation of the new missile system installed on the Type 054A I will gladly change that. Since I have never seen anything like that, lets assume the SA-N-9 is a place holder, ok?

Hi,

Are future Canadian upgrades to include the ESSM?:confused:

considering that one (or two already?) of the Tribals have been stricken and that the government just recently announced to mid-life upgrade the Halifax class frigates I highly doubt that the remaining Tribals will see any upgrade at all for their short remaining service life.

BTW: I did some Tribal drawings a while back, don´t wanna steel the thread though. If anyone is interested, please take a look:

Hi Mconrads, your drawings are a highlight of this Forum. I see that you have more confidence than me in putting a Seasprite on the back of your Anzac Drawing. Well done.

thanks for the compliment. I like it that you enjoy them as much as I do. As for the helicopter: well it is not airborne, isn´t it:-)))))))

Hi,

and excellent work on the drawings, McConrads….. Although it appears the SAN is only installing two per ship at the moment, plans call for each ship to receive four Sea Rogues in total.

glad you like them. Any information on where those guns will be placed, on the bridge wings or aft?

you wouldn´t have a side view or a line drawing of that Sea Wraith, would you? I wanted to draw that for some time now but couldn´t make it look right from the material I have.

Hi,

Beatiful job. I see on your site the Cavour, it’s perfect but it has only Aster 15 and 76 they aren’t.

Yeah, I included the 76mm guns because it is/was the intended armament but I know it wont be fitted. Never the less a very nice design. Shiplover is planning to draw a deck view for it and a CTOL version as well. How is it coming shiplover?

On italian forum, we speak one week ago on light frigate for Italian Navy and, for example, Lafayette modified is a good ship. I modified your pix for example

Very nicely modified. Just one thing: NEVER EVER SAVE IN JPG!!!!! Always use gif. Jpg tends to screw up the imagines and adds color fragments all over the place.

To participate in that discussion I drew a modified Commadanti class some time ago which should fit perfectly as well:

Nice drawing Mconrads, although I wish it was the AWD you were drawing. 🙁

Hi,

Is CEA-MOUNT feasible for final illumination of SM-2 at long ranges?
I would add a couple of 25mm Typhoons mounts and, of course, Mk-45 mod.4
Yah! A second NH-90 would be parked directly at the helipad… 🙁

It seems that F-105 (and, I suppose, AWD’s) will include some design refinements taken from the Nansens
